240V Air Compressor for Cleaning PC, AC Filters, etc

Looking for a 240V air compressor for PC cleaning and general dust removal from AC filters, etc. Any recommendation?

Have been looking at Bunnings and Supercheapauto but not sure which one is deemed suitable.

Budget less than $100 but could stretch a little bit if required.

Thanks

p.s. found an old forum post but it was dated 2016 and the equipment mentioned are no longer available.

  • It really doesn’t take much to clean a pc fan….

I believe opolar2 used to be the go to (wireless rechargeable)

    • Thanks. Wasn't looking at the wireless rechargeable type at the moment.

  • Have you tried using a blower? The air compressor has to be prepped before use which can be a pain, then you have to drain it after use. Plus you have to buy accessories extra.

Sydney tools have one at $150 should be free shipping.

    • thanks. What accessories should I look into?

      • You would need fittings and hose, blow gun handle, water filter.

      • +1

I use one of these it works great but you might still have to brush the dust first to loosen it.

        • Thanks mate. That looks good. Seems to have good reviews although some reviewers say the air is not as strong as they like. Do you find this works satisfactorily in your use case?

          • @jeeg: It works great for me, it's ease of use is good. I use mine to clean my pc but if the dust is stuck on you will have to use a brush or cloth first, also use it for cleaning my keyboard. A few other odd jobs it work great for.

            • @aussieprepper: Thanks bro. I might buy the same as the price is good.

              • @jeeg: I forgot one thing my one has a parasitic drain so if I leave it for a while and use it, the battery will be drained but I only use it on the odd occasion so it might sit for a few months.

                • @aussieprepper: Ah that is a bummer. I hope the battery don't go kaput soon which when that happens the blower becomes another land fill….

  • Saw this on on Supercheapauto.

    Is this one suitable?

  • Is this one suitable?

For pumping up tyres it's adequate.

For cleaning filters etc you need something that has a tank to maintain pressure. It doesn't have to be expensive.

SCA has a good range of Blackridge Air Compressors and accessories that will do what you want.

    • Thanks. I will have another look.

  • Do not us e a standard air compressor to clean PCs as they will literately spit out water droplets with the compressed air. If you are to use one then install a moisture separator/trap which would add to your cost.

For cleaning PCs use one of these or even better this one but two times your budget.

    • Thanks. The pccasegear one looks very nice - but more than what i am willing to spend.

    • thanks mate. This one looks promising. I will check reviews.
