Should be called Razer Krackle X

Was a great headset for a few months but now has loud crackling sounds whenever it's being used. Haven't dropped/abused it nor been using it 10 hrs a day

    • Damn, sorry to hear that your headset broke

      • +1

I don't really consider it broken because it still works, at least it gives me time to buy a replacement rather than no sound at all. Shame because it's really comfortable.

Edit: just saw 2 year warranty on the box, might try that

    • Do you plan on going down the warranty path?

      • +1

Literally just edited my reply 😂 yeah I'll try the warranty path

2 year warranty on a $49 product is pretty good

        • +1

LoL I just noticed after my reply, then tried editing it but it wouldn't allow me as you had already replied to my reply. Replies galore.

        • +1

Yeah, hopefully you don't experience that crackling noise again.

If you brought from amazon just send them a message. I had a $20 mouse that stopped working after 9 months, messaged them and they started refund process on the mouse.

@Ouchsicle: Is it that easy? Nice

            • @Anthony84736: Amazon has always been super easy to deal with. Never had to show proof of anything for any of the returns/refunds I have had to do. Even when I got a fake it was super easy. Maybe it was because the fake was so obvious…

    • How’s the mic on these?

      • -2

        I don't personally own one

      • Haven't had any complaints mic wise, can hear others clearly and they seemingly can hear me too
Switch on the wire can turn it on/off

For $49 it acts like you'd expect (currently have mic off so not sure how crackling affects it)

      • I use these for work. No issues there

  • Used to have the Kraken pro v2. Worked well for 4 years straight before the left ear does not produce sounds anymore. Apparently these newer ones have worse build quality, would still vouch for it though.

    • Damn 4 years. Long time

      • Yep, only replaced the ear cushions early last year since the faux leather on one side broke and had the whole headset replaced it late last year. Was a bit sad since I liked the headset a lot and it was pretty comfy (even better than the arctis 5 I have right now)

        • Might actually pick up this headset from your positive reviews lol (:

  • This is a kraken deal.

    get the gsp300 instead

  • My girlfriend really likes the green kraken’s with the cat ear attachments. Are any of them a decent price/not purely aesthetic?

    • -2

I will look for one and possibly PM you with it?

  • Bought one of this for my Teenage son when it was on special at Costco. Didn't take long and it was broken. Replaced it under warranty from Costco. Same deal ,broke after a couple of weeks.
He has been through a number of headsets over the years but none ever broke.

    • +1

Damn, I hope your son found a headset that he likes

      • He used his old no name headset and my XBOX Wireless headset for a while and than we got him the Astro Gaming A40&M80 when they were on special end of last year. Couldn't be happier.

Same here, bought from Costco broke within a few months got another one broke after one year and 5 days took it back to Costco they said I need a RMA from razer. Told them to check ACL, manager came out and said need RMA after one year even it has two years warranty. I told her I will next time and got my refund. Lol

  • Customary where is the RGB post?

  • Is the mic removeable? I presume not but can't see anywhere on the listing mentioning it.

    • You cannot remove the mic but you can turn it off

      • you can.
the mic is detachable, has a 3.5 jack (or something like 3.5)

        • Nice

          • @Anthony84736: sorry, my bad.
i have a different model not sure about this one

        • I have the model RZ04-0289, which appears to be same.
Can confirm the mic is not detachable. but is very flexible.

    • alternatively, you can buy Corsair HS35 - same price, same quality and has a detachable mic

  • Lol, nice
