same samsung staff cheaper in many places
your RRP prices look like cheating or prices from MYER

    • +2

RRP comes directly from the supplier which is why we didn't include it here.
You will always find something cheaper somewhere else…
This really is a clearance sale and you will find some great savings on factory second and new appliances.

  • $198 Samsung 3D BluRay Player 500GB HDD PVRBDD8500AXY - Whats wrong with it?

    • -7

i bet - refurbished or damaged

    • +1

Hi Twisty, from our explanation page (http://www.2ndsworld.com.au/what-factory-2nd):

      Factory 2nd Appliances:
"Appliances in perfect working order, they may have a cosmetic blemish, be factory reworked, an ex display model, or just have a 'tiny ding' incurred during transit."

Everything we sell also comes with at least a 1 Year Warranty.

  • Was searching for a cheap 3D blu ray player for under $100 for a while now and I just picked up this Samsung 3D Blu Ray player (BDC6900) with built in wifi and 7.1CH Output for $89. Not bad considering that it used to cost $300+ 2 years ago. Minor scratches but I can live with that.

    • this 6900 is different to AU stock 6900?

      doesnt seem to have smarthub?

      • What's a smarthub? Anyway, for $89 I really don't care if it's aussie stock or not. I do get the 1 yr warranty anyway.

  • LoL. Minor Scratches. I've had some issues with 2nds world before, and whilst i will still buy with them, i'm wary of the "minor scratches". I purchased a TV from them, which they apparently sold to someone else when i went to collect it. They did make up for it by offering another model at a better price after i requested to speak to the manager which is fantastic customer service. The lady who the manager passed me back to was still rude tho and i suspect it was her fault and thus got a ticking off. TLDR: Great service from manager, crappy staff.

I proceeded to purchase a coffee machine for my wife's birthday. A factory 2nd Breville BES860. http://www.breville.com.au/beverages/espresso/fresca-espress… It looked as it it was dropped (there was a dent in the metal) and dragged across the floor with scratches all across the top. The machine had coffee powder still in it and the milk frother had left over dried milk that took an hour to clean out properly and the grill was slightly rusted. Imagine such a nice item with scratches all over! Quite a sore sight but unfortunately it was stated that there may be some minor marks as it's a factory second.

Other than that it worked perfectly for almost a year now. I just refuse to display it and cover it with a cloth as it's so damaged looking.

So do note when they say factory second. It may not be what you bargained for.

      Hi KeeFy,
It sounds like your purchase was some time ago, we now always call to confirm the exact condition of the item to ensure the condition is satisfactory. To be quite honest, that coffee machine should have gone back to us and swapped as all our factory 2nd products are reworked and (!) cleaned by authorized repair centers. Every factory 2nd is in a different condition but none of them should be in the condition yours was in. Unfortunately it is a little bit late to do anything about it now but definitely call us if you feel an item received is not in the condition you were promised it to be in.

  • Does your WiFi-ready blu-ray actually have WiFi capability, or do you have to spend $80 on a Samsung WiFi dongle?

    • +1

it is 'wifi ready' only which means you will have to buy the extra dongle.

  • nice $60 for a cheap home theater system
    Good for surround sound gaming

  • i hope we can still catch up tommorow as we don't usually buy items online :(

    • The sale will be on until sunday and we have a lot of stock to clear in general however some items will sell out earlier/have sold out already.

  • +1

bleh too expensive to deliver to WA…and honestly not that cheap too

  • My experience with them is that they are not cheap especially for the condition of some of their stock. I would rather buy something that is new and not damaged for the small amount saved if anything is even saved at all. Maybe there is a bargain to be had if you search, but bad previous experiences have done it for me.

  • I've got the BDD5300 BluRay player and it's pretty good, and far less than the price I paid for mine. There are codes to region free the DVD side of this and many similar Samsung BluRay players readily available on the net. The smart features are reasonable, including iview (metered even if your isp doesn't because it's via a content delivery network). It also has a remote that controls various other TVs - does my Panasonic Plasma.

If you have a Home Theatre PC, you'd probably want to think about buying a Samsung BD-ROM drive for $80 instead, which comes with software (I found it for that on shopbot.com.au I think), though this standard player is hassle free and works well.

  • Not bad :)

  • I just received the Samsung BDC-6900, and I must say that the condition is excellent. I would not be able to tell it apart from a new unit except for a tiny, almost unnoticeable scratch on a panel. Great deal!
