    • Well, looks like I was wrong on this one. rip Ukraine.

  • Since the lockdowns and after I got an elcheapo Aldi e-bike for my daily commute ,the car's battery keeps needing replacement. I've spent more on car batteries than anything else on the car. We had to get one of those aliepxress trickle chargers. Do they have automatic trickle chargers or something?

You need to give it a good drive once a month. I had the same problem. Even if you start it and let it idle the battery will go flat after 6 months. Much better is to take it for a half hour drive every month, preferably on a highway so it gets up to temperature and burn off the moisture in the oil.

      disconnect the battery after driving

Drive a Corolla hybrid sedan sitting on 3.7L/100km even on E10. Was doing mental math. At $1.50L it cost me $6/$100km. $2/L $8. Not too worried.

    • That's cheap. Mine is at 12

      • Put your car on a diet. Check the tire pressure. Take out excess weight. Get eco tires when they come up for replacement. Convert it to LPG!? You can get a tank that fits into the spare tire well and have run flat kit.

        • +1

LPG has had its day. Itโ€™s not as economical as it used to be and is harder to get.

    • Fantastic things aren't they? Pretty much the lowest TCO/most practical car on the market.

Pretty much the lowest TCO/most practical car on the market.

Yes. Wish they would bring in the wagon. That would be even more practical.

I'm screaming my gut out when I filling my car …. fck fck fck.

  • This was FUD to BTFD.

๐Ÿฅฌ ๐Ÿ™Œ sold on the rumour of war and the ๐Ÿ‹ ๐Ÿณ gobbled up cheap assets.

Good thing we thought ahead and pushed hard to invest in EV infrastructure and incentives.

Oh wait. We did the opposite. RIP

The West comes up with some war fantasies for mostly domestic reasons following the script of "Wag the Dog", Putin makes a killing selling oil and gas. Are they in cahoots?

    • i wanna know how many dead people are needed in this global fantasy?

      as much as iraq? afghanistan?

  • yeah not looking forward to it. i dont want a war for obvious reasons like people dying but i know it will hurt us too with stuff like oil prices going up. wouldnt be surprised if they get to $6L if stock becomes an issue. Russia is a big supplier so they could easily turn off their exports of Oil and Gas to world

    • As price increases crude oil because more profitable - and then new production starts -

in any case in this hurts oil nations - jsut means people going to electric much faster

      • +1

More EV is both ๐Ÿ‘ for the โ™ป๏ธ and a new source of revenue for the feds.

        • Not to mention national energy security, foreign trade balance and urban pollution.

          • @Dogsrule: russia doesnt supply oil gas "to the world"

you think the Americas get russian fossil fuels? you pump russian petrol to your car?

the big gas user is obviously the EU what the gas going there… see how much of a cuck Germany is to Russia.

            • @tonyjzx: ?? What does that have to do with Australia being dependent on foreign oil? It doesn't matter where it comes from, being reliant on other countries to supply (expensive) energy to keep our economy running is a fragile position to be in. We have to send billions of dollars of Australian productivity to other countries to buy their oil which weakens our economy, and severe price fluctuations as we are seeing now cause serious economic disruption.

              • @Dogsrule: yes i agree with you

                we should decouple from opec

but this is irrelevant to the topic and russian gas, oil, ukraine… which apparently is the topic at hand

                • @tonyjzx: Well I was replying to this comment specifically:

More EV is both ๐Ÿ‘ for the โ™ป๏ธ and a new source of revenue for the feds.

And adding that, in relation to the oil price impact caused by the Russia-Ukraine thing, more EV'S are also good for our economy, not just the environment.

The reason the US wants war in Ukraine is ultimately all about the dollar
Why is the US-led West trying to instigate a crisis in Ukraine? Those who understand how Washington derives its real power know why โ€“ itโ€™s all about money

Thomas J. Penn is a US citizen and has lived in Germany for many years. He was a non-commissioned infantry officer in the US Army. He studied finance and management and has extensive experience in the financial markets.

    TLDR
    The USD is in a ๐Ÿ’€ ๐ŸŒ€.

$30,000,000,000,000 in debt and going down to the right, fast.

    • russia today?

      truly great source

like "Pravda" which is Russian for "truth"

      • Numbers don't lie.

Both Putin and Jinping have networks in place to replace the USD and SWIFT.

The USD is ๐Ÿ’ฉ and will โ˜ ๏ธ like all other fiat ๐Ÿ’ต before it.

        • that sounds awesome for all the economies based on usd

the world doesnt really care what russia doesnt because they are a nothing economy

however i doubt china will be moving away from usd given then hold so much us treasury assets as it is AND they dont float their currency anyway

  • 2 weeks ago paid 1.59 for E10, today paid 1.65 for E10.

The main petrol stations such as BP, Shell, 7/11 whatever that one is all charging 1.90+ for E10 now…. it's getting beyond a joke now.

Nice to see smaller chains such as Metro still offering lower prices but still damn too high for what it is.

    • metro has water in the fuel

What Biden says imminent invasion last Wednesday .
    Again today .
Can't the Old Fart call it when if it happens ?
    It won't .
And stop the parrot leaders all around the world echoing his shit .
Anyway he benefits with the US being the world largest oil producer being 20% and his mate Putin 11% with the oil increases .

    • Any day now any day!

  • Petrol tipped to hit $2.25/litre
Suck it conservatives who prefer to defer costs to future generations - to paraphrase your 2,000 year old book of fairytales โ€œon this rock be broken or by this rock be crushedโ€

    • $4.00 per litre by the end of 2022.

  • Whelp, the invasion has started. (profanity) Putin.

    • ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ would be wise to stay away from this. ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ isn't ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ถ or ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ซ.

  • With the piss weak sanctions put on yesterday .
I have no doubt China licking their lips over their target ( Taiwan )

Why BBC and CNN have no live coverage near the borders ?
~# me BBC saying 5 Russian planes and a helicopter shot down reported by Ukraine forces .
At least the stingers are working .

  • $3 a litre by June

    • Fk me

      • hmmm

it depends on what happens in ukraine

if it 'resolves' then i doubt it'll get to $3 litres

if it does get to $3, then there'll be a run on tesla

one thing i find funny here and elsewhere… how come the putin punters are now suddenly nowhere to be seen??? curious
