    anyone used this

    ryobi

be good for a road trip to clean off bugs every so often so they don't stain the car after a while sitting in the sun.

I don't go out much. Also, you should create your own thread!

    • Not much pressure though, but its a great idea. I saw that they were only in the US, and I thought about buying one.

  • I've not had much luck with Ozito tools, and I just replaced the Karcher with a Ryobi. The High Pressure lance from Karcher is $80, whereas the Ryobi was about $20-25?
Mind you the hose wears easily, so I upgraded the hose. @$30?

  • Bought the Ryobi: Total junk!

    • Same model? Why don't you return it?

It worked for softening red soil so I could vacuum it up and expose a leaky waterline. So far so good, just over an hour's run. I actually had a cheap ebay one that after a few years until the cut off switch started to cycle. The Ryobi did the same after one hour! Only thing better is the soap container works if you set it to low pressure. Hoses are compatible but both have such a low max pressure that you struggle blowing off dried up mosquitoes from a car window. Then tried to blast off some mildew on driveway. Tenant came with his Kaercher and was about 10 times faster! Peviously I had a Bosch with a rattle head. Could not fault it, 10 years later with 80% wear could sell it for 40% of new price.
        Buy cheap, get cheap!

Bought the Ozito on Saturday and did my concrete pavers with it, was pretty impressed with the result.

Ozito has better reviews on Bunnings website than the Ryobi and is quite highly rated by Choice.

I have a Gerni that's lasted the best part of 5 years.

The wand is just starting to go now, but the pump itself is going strong.

The Gernis are in a total different price range. The 159AUD model is fairly low ratings and lower warranty.

  • Ryobi has 4 years warranty compared to 3 years for the Ozito. They are both sold exclusively at Bunnings so returns process would be very pain free for either.

    • This Ryobi has 3 years. Not clear what it is on Ozito but last deal on OZB was 3 years

      • The Ozito is listed as 3 years warranty on the product page link in your post. Ryobi's website says 4 years for corded power tools.

        • Yep, definitely 4 years, it says so on the box. It was a tough decision but I ended up going with the Ryobi 2030 PSI pressure washer as it had all the attachments as well as a 40% longer hose with an on board reel. It was just so much more solid than the tiny little Ozito which looked like a toy.

My friend went off for an extended 8 month trip to her home country and I used her Ryobi (same model OP listed) while she was away. It did a decent job but kept falling over easily. I suspect it's due to the design of the location of the water and power outlets. The water input leaked after 2 hours of use each time I used it. I possibly used it 6 times in the period I had it and fell in love with the pressure washer. The soap dispenser was handy but I quickly found that I didn't need soap for cleaning the driveway, windows, walls, fence, garage door, etc. I tried cleaning the car, carefully to avoid stripping the paint, but I had to use elbow grease to actually clean the dust and bird crap off with a sponge/cloth, so to me, a normal garden hose does the job and is easier to use. I also used the pressure washer to clean the cobwebs off the outdoor lights and cameras. Risky doing that, probably.

Full disclosure, I did try using the highest pressure to encourage the pigeons that poop on my car to find a new home, but they just laughed at me and settled back in after 15 minutes. I should have left cleaning the car for last.

I knew I had to get one once I returned it and decided to get the Ozito instead of the Ryobi. TL;DR, the Ozito is better.

Design is better so the unit hardly fell over, even when I was lazy and tried tugging it closer to me from afar. The water connector feels much more solidly built and didn't leak after 2 hours but this is a new unit compared to the ryobi which was already a year old when I borrowed it.
The pressure is better and it cleaned a cement smear that the ryobi couldn't (tho to be fair, I tried getting rid of that cement smear ~6x before and perhaps the 7th time was when it finally gave way).
I love the cable and equipment management/storage in Ozito. I didn't even realise I hated the Ryobi design until I used the Ozito 😅

No regrets whatsoever. I've already used my Ozito ~5x in the last 3 months. I usually pull it out a couple of days before I have people over and the outdoor floors are clean and barefoot friendly, should that be a preference. I also bought an outdoor 10amp extension lead and waterproof plug cover as well to complete my obsession kit.

    Hope this comparison review helps!

  • I have the Ryobi. I find it really great once you get the hang of the soap/ spray angle settings. I use mine on the car, I cleaned the carport floor, windows, gutters and garage door ready for painting etc. I am planning to pressure hose the bins out over the weekend too. Overall I am happy with it.
