Trimmer Line for Ego 56v Line Trimmers

Is there any trimmer line included with Ego line trimmers? How much?

Do you always use Ego twist line or have you tried other stuff? I'm thinking of using Maxpower 338808.

The head is full of line, so about 4m worth.
I have that maxpower and I also got the other top one Project Farm recommended Weed Warrior 17061 - https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B01FARMGEU/

FYI, if you get the Maxpower, you can get twice the length for 33% more - https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B003VPWHL6/?th=1

Both a good, I would say the Maxpower seems to hit faster and smoother, but not as tough as the Weed Warrior. I need to do more back to back, I have spent most time on Weed Warrior, and only just put in Maxpower for first time recently, so just got a couple of hours on it before I lent my unit to a friend.

You get about 2M of trim line already installed into the trimmer. Then another 2M in the pack.

The included stuff is really good. I found it lasts quite a long time. However I just bought a tonne of Oregon supertwist which work very well but probably not as durable.

I couldn't get the original stuff when I needed it so I bought a reel of this stuff from ebay, seems to work OK but not as long lasting.

don't get that Saxon stuff from Bunnings.. i must have used up 4m of that stuff in a couple of months because it kept breaking. Bought one from my local lawn mower place (can't remember the brand i bought though because i threw the packaging away

Have a skim through this thread - there's a few different alternatives listed. Maxpower has been mentioned by Snuke and seems to be pretty good. I'm going to try that and Ozline once I run out of my ego branded stuff.

  • Thanks all. I ordered a ST1521E-B 38cm Powerload yesterday. I am sick of trying to get my Stihl 2 stroke to start. It is bloody aggravating. My petrol mower on the other hand is always super easy to start.

    • I did the same last week

You wont regret it. And that smile you'll get when you load up the line for the first time with just the push of a button will last for hours. :)

    This stuff is amazing: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0018U00J2/?th=1
Takes a little longer coming from US but not something you normally need in a hurry

They sell it at Bunnings for much much more but you could get a smaller reel to try out if you wanted - https://www.bunnings.com.au/oregon-2-4mm-x-12m-supertwist-tr…

  • Oh, and the reloading process is ridiculously easy compared to Stihl.

  • Thanks for the reminder. I got a Powerload trimmer a while ago and I’m now using the extra included line. Need some more. Might give the maxpower a go.
Coming from an old ryobi 18v trimmer it’s taken some getting used to the extra power. Have to keep a good hold of it as it can dig in if it catches on something. Haven’t figured out the best way of edging yet. I’ll have to watch some YouTube I think.

(edit) changed my mind - I’ll try Aaron’s tip with the Oregon line. $34.12 for 85m from AmazonAU, so should arrive sooner
