Samsung Flip 3 - Anyone Willing to Provide Feedback on Experience So Far?

Hi all, pretty much as per subject line. In the lead up to Xmas there were a couple of very popular promotions / discounts on the Samsung Flip 3 by now I'm assuming that most who took part in the promotion have received their devices and was interested to see what experience others have had so far.

I ordered the Flip 3 Bespoke edition which arrived about two weeks ago. Was really happy with it but pulled it out of my pocket yesterday evening and the screen fold crease line looks like it is shattered, 5mm rough grey line right across the middle.

This morning it is leaking black stuff through the middle of the screen and the top half has stopped responding to touch.

I'm wondering if this is going to be an ongoing issue.

Spoke to Samsung, they just shrugged and said to take it to a service centre so waiting for backups to happen before taking it in.

Anyone else? Good or bad?

Edit 25/2: Samsung rejected the warranty claim and want to charge $515 to repair. Lodging the ACCC complaint and starting PayPal chargeback process. Here is a picture of the phone.

Not so much flip related, but I always was keen on the z Fold and although they said they addressed the problem of how to avoid hinge related issues in the long term I'm just not 100% sold on it.

I bought it to my wife for Christmas just because of the promotion. She took it to beach, it was slightly entertaining to open and close it few times when there was sand in the mechanism.

I tried look under the grease if there were any sand but luckily no.

I wouldn't have bought it if it wouldn't have been some $400+. I like my phone's durable :D

Had the 4G flip and now the Flip3. No screen issues so far, was using the 4G flip as daily driver for 6 months and still have it now. Been using the Flip3 since December.

Nothing to complain about except battery life

    According to feedback I got:

    The good
The flip is very handy when you want to rest the phone L shape so you could use for photos or even using as a selfie to doll yourself up (effectively treating it like a girl's pocket mirror). Handy to use to watch movie to by resting the phone and L shaping it.
The flip is small enough to fit into purse and the back screen is very innovative as well as useful to display important information without having to open up the phone.
The initial anxiety about the flip hinge (foldable screen) is assuaged almost immediately given that's what the phone is built for and it seems to be working fine.

    The bad (some really bad)
Battery is immensely inferior, especially coming from Note family. Charging is needed up to 2x a day.
Screen/Picture/camera quality is immensely inferior, again, especially coming from Note family
Loss of screen real estate which is immensely missed, again, coming from Note family
Phone is noticably flimsy and vulnerable so extra care not to accidentally drop it. Have not tried its water resistance or proof-ness but would be very nervous bringing it to anywhere near water unlike, again, Note.

Overall would not spend a lot for this phone and Note is by far more preferable.

    Hey mate,
I was one of the people that managed to snag the discounts galore on the Flip 3 during the Christmas period.

I owned and used it for about 2 weeks before letting it go.

    What I enjoyed:

120Hz refresh screen. Coming from literally any iPhone this was really pleasant to use, but in the end I found I didn't really need it.
Flip form factor - it was nice to literally halve the phone into my pocket and have the outside screen display to use for quick things like music but found it very limiting still.

What I didn't end up enjoying:

The size - weirdly when it's open it just feels a bit too large for me.
The battery life - I feel like they could've/should've chucked in a bigger one in there. For the price I got it for, can't complain but at RRP, it's a bit ridiculous.

In the end I went back to an iPhone XS - small and easy to use and manipulate, good battery life for it's size, and perhaps a significant rooted foundation in iOS. All the same, I'd wait until the next generation Z Flip I think there's still a few minor things I'd like for it to improve before I commit money to it

I am a Tightarese, and was using a 4 year old phone. I was interested in the Flip, and ended up going with the Fold 3, which I have been using since the 1st week of release, and I love it. You don't notice the crease when watching a movie, the sound is great, and it doubles as a tablet. Furthermore the battery life is better than I expected.

Only downfall, is finding a vent mount wide enough for full screen, though I saw Samsung now have one for $99 (which s a wireless charger).
Yes I know its not the Flip, but it's big brother.
