haha Just random post of an idea I thought that could be useful. When you view someone's profile how about showing what state they're from or when they post anything (comment, deal, etc) Have a logo display their state next to them. Just thought it'd be easier to respond to, for example if someone asks a question the answer I can give might vary from state to state.
Dunno thoughts? haha

it would also be great if the deals could be categorised: state/territory or australia-wide.
Sightly off topic but +1 from me. A simple drop down or row of check boxes would take care of it.
It's a bit hard to accurately identify the state from which a user is from. Quite a number users lie in their profile (especially those from overseas), and the IP address lookup is not always accurate.

Why make it automatic? I'd imagine there would be a few who wouldn't want that info up on the net. Just putting it in as an optional thing like avatars, something to the extent of a "Public" tick box next to the "Location" field. Personally I think it'd be great to have that extra data for filtering and alike.
How about while posting a deal the OP has a choice to select state.
~ 20 to 30 % of deals are state restricted , so a state logo next to a deal would certainly be a good thing.
I agree it would be useful. I usually just click on their name for their profile, but sometimes the location information isn't available, it is optional for them to provide that information.
