[PC, Steam] 8 VR Game Bundle: Synth Riders, Blaston, Cook-out, Trover Saves Universe $17.23 (BTA) @ Humble Bundle

590

Activates on Steam. Had "Trevor Saves the Universe" on my watchlist for awhile and this bundle looks worth it just for that alone, which is $42. Rest of the games look decent too.

This is SteamVR so you'll need a VR headset.

  • Synth Riders
  • Blaston
  • Cook-Out
  • Panoptic
  • Trover Saves the Universe
  • Red Matter
  • Tower Tag + game sound track

  • Great value. Includes red matter and synth riders too

  • What sort of 'VR headset' do you need, and roughly how much are they? Any recommendations as to a good one? Is it better not to 'scrimp', or are all the available ones pretty much the same? I've never heard of 'PC VR' …

    • +2

The best budget option is Oculus Quest 2* ($479 or less), the best premium option is Valve Index if you can get it ($2100?).

There are other options but I feel it's very important to have either of the widely supported options rather than Windows Mixed Reality due to screwing about and "compatibility" (meaning it isn't).

      • Well actually it's arguably Playstation VR but it's less capable than PC. Does have most users and games though. Is also cheaper and capable of playing backups where Oculus isn't if it's PS4.
      • I think the $1000 HP Reverb G2 WMR is a better option - its really good for a lot of Vr stuff given its resolution and Fov (I just bought one and are more than happy with it)

If you play racing/space/flight Sim VR games (where tracking doesnt matter) its brilliant and it will be ok for everything else.

WHere can you get the Quest 2 for $479 as afaik its $650 odd?

        No idea of these games

        • +3

$479 has been the regular price of the Quest 2 on Amazon and oculus sites. The Zuck and meta™ has really been pushing it’s price value hard.
The 1st gen Quest was $650 if I’m not mistaken.

        • HP Reverb G2 is a tough sell at double the price of the Quest 2, given it also lacks wireless (and access to Oculus exclusives, I really liked Lone Echo).

          • @ItsMeAgro: Depends on what you play. I think the extra res is worth it.I have a Oculus Go (well two actually) but hardly ever used them over my acer WMRs

            • @Franc-T:

I think the extra res is worth it

What is it, 10% more pixels? They both have about 8 million pixels.

          • +1

@ItsMeAgro: Oculus games are playable on non-oculus HMDs using Revive, though

        • +1

No way you can compare G2 that starts at 1k to full package of q2 at $479- no need for a PC too

          • @botchie: Yeha when I posted I couldnt see the Oculus for $479, I could only see it for $600 +. Thats a big difference in affordability.

            • @Franc-T: Q2 is selling at a huge loss 🤣🤣, crazy Zak

      • +1

Been waiting for the valve but it's taking forever to really become available. By the time it's readily available I wonder if we'll be hearing more credible information about the possibility of a Valve Index 2.

  • work on Oculus Quest 2 ?

    • +1

Yup but not without a PC in the middle. You can wireless/wired link to the PC, then load SteamVR, then load the game of your choice.

  • Awesome, thanks OP! Activated on Steam for my Vive.

  • Worth it for Trover and Red Matter alone (Trover is by the voice actor of Rick and Morty).

Picked it up, I know that 'one day' I will buy a VR headset

    • Why not today?

A decent one is cheaper than the discless versions of the new consoles, and a far more impressive/immersive upgrade.

  • I've bought digital copies of Trover on switch and PS4… And physical copies on both of these consoles… I don't have a quest yet…. Do I really need this bundle too…

    • Lol. I bought Trover on switch played a little and realised it is very much made for VR. Bought it on Oculus when it was on special, and now have it on steam .. I mainly got this bundle for Red matter and Synth Riders. Never figured I would have 3 copies.

  • I enjoyed Trover.
