oh it wasn't a go at you, it was a go at THEM because that's how they have it listed on their actual website. I can understand user error but i've noticed more and more companies calling earphones headphones lately. I dont know if it's deliberate because headphones sounds more professional and like it should cost more than earphones, perhaps it is, but i keep clicking on headphones deals and thinking "where are the headphones?" due to this. Just something i've noticed especially of late.
Also it's not some trivial annoyance, i literally cannot wear earphones due to an ear deformity (they dont fit in my ears) so for me, it HAS to be headphones, which is why it makes it so annoying when they mislead by using the incorrect terminology.
Like you I find this nomenclature quite annoying. My understanding is that headphones and earphones are often used interchangably. Our good friend wikipedia suggests so: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Headphones. I think headphone just refers to the fact that you place the driver on the head (as opposed to loud speakers which are situated farther away). I guess marketing don't think using terminology like "in ear" and "over the ear" sound good.
a few days ago someone posted a link to active noise cancelling headphones @ Amazon, clicked through the link which brought up search results (so pages) of products and i couldnt find any ANC headphones. Then upon further investigation, i realised they were talking about some pissy little earphones. And it wasn't the poster's fault, either, they were again actually listed as headphones on Amazon!
At least they aren't called "earbuds" like a lot were branded in the early days.

@jv: Oh this is the most annoying type of presentation. Spend 20 minutes talking about the patient's foot before finally after million obtuse answers you work out it's actually the knee that is sore.
Nokia can hardly design a phone properly and update it now. What makes them think they are good for earbuds. Go for a pair of Sony instead.
Consumer electronics division of Nokia - the one that used to make stuff - is long dead - killed-off by Microsoft's acquisition.

I've checked all the specs on Ali and fail to see what these have to offer, even at $50 AUD
They only have SBC, not even AAC, let alone Aptx (they have 5.2 but clearly not Qualcomm 3040 etc)
Assuming you buy them for the ANC feature, you're only getting 4.5 hours Max and not even quick charge by the looks of it.
It really grinds my gears when companies call something "headphones" when they are obviously earphones, not headphones. I mean seriously, how hard is it?
