This isn't an incredible price - just a good price. They can be found for $45 when the stars align, but free shipping is nice. Consider this a ~$10 discount.

  • You must have read my mind. Our beaker cracked this morning…

I used to break glass french presses at least once a year, so damn fragile. Ended up splurging on a stainless steel one and it's now paid for itself, highly recommend.

      • Got a cheapo camping one from Kmart the other week… maybe should start using that :)

  • What? Chambord is a liqueur, what's it got to do with coffee?

You do realise Chambord is a famous & elegant 16thC Château in Chambord, France?

That liqueur came centuries later - the 1980's, named after that region & Château.
Guess Bodum did much the same with this French Press - it's marketing.

"one of the most recognisable châteaux in the world because of its very distinctive French Renaissance architecture"
Spent a memorable day there while exploring the Loire Valley.

Thanks for that. I've been all over France on numerous occasions, but I didn't know that about the Chateau. (I was educated by the de la Salle brothers in England, and they transferred me to their schools in Paris and Normandy every summer. Happy days.)

Picked up similar sized one for 50c at Op Shop. Looked like it had never been used!
Used it for cold brew coffee.
