For those interested, there's currently a price glitch at Harvey Norman where if you add the Pulse Headset and Horizon Forbidden West PS5 the total comes to $154.86.

Seems like a good deal considering the game is essentially $56 if the headset is valued $98 in the offer.

The headset and PS4 version of the game is $134.86 I already have the PS5 version but my kid wants the game for his PS4.

    • Thanks just grabbed this

    • thanks just got one

    • Glitch is patched now…

    too bad it's HN

  • How's the sound quality of this compared to say proper wired headphones like Senn 599 and such?

    • +4

Bought these so I can play at night without bothering the other half. I quite like them. They do a solid job for the price.
I'm sure those new $300 have better range, but at this price, they're quite decent. Only niggle is they can get a bit uncomfortable after an hour or so.

Not as good as proper audiophile headphones (provided they're plugged into the source). If you're trying to use the headphone jack on the controller, these are way better.

      • Okay cool. For headphones I plan to just plug my wired headphones to the headphone jack in my integrated amp, most likely sound better than the controller output. I thought if this is really nice then maybe I can sacrifice slight sound quality for convenience

        • +1

Definitely do sacrifice the slight sound quality for convenience. I had a thought. I've actually been playing with them on every night for the past two weeks.
So nice, being able to walk to the kitchen without worrying about cables.

        • +1

For me it's worth the sacrifice. Nice to be able to get up and get a drink or something during a cutscene.

    • You're asking to someone that owns both, aren't you?

    • +1

Sennheiser 599 would sound better for sure, but they lack a mic for gaming, they are not bluetooth, and they are open backed meaning that they are not as suitable for use in a room with another person using audio.

Plus they are twice the price.

It all really depends on what you want to use them for. I would get these for PS5 gaming over the Sennheiser, if I just wanted to listen to music I would research the best headphones in my budget.

There's quite a lot of pros and cons discussion on the last listing for this (with the Horizon Zero West bundle).

It's fair to say this product splits audience on comfort, sound and features - I personally really rate them.

For my purposes (trying to not wake the house up), these work fine. They sound much better than headphones plugged into the controller IMO and are not as pricey as something like astro's or logitechs (if you want wireless).

Sony also has been good about updating them (there are new features coming in the next ps5 software update), and they've added EQ and some other settings since release.

  • Damn - missed out. Out of stock at Amazon and Harvey Norman just updated their prices this morning. Should have pulled trigger last night. Any other deals out there on the pulse 3d headset i might have missed?
