Cheapest Way to Buy Elden Ring Digitally (PS5) [StepPay]

This one’s for all my digital gamers out there.

I was looking through multiple ways to possibly bring the price down on the PSN store. Before anyone jumps on me about physical being the best way, cool it’s been said lol. Some of us still bought a Digital PS5 anyways and there’s the rare occasion where I would like a launch day game but the prices are just insane.

So I looked at the StepPay offer of $20 cash back on $100 spent.

Spend $100 on a PSN gift card from wherever you like online.
Use your StepPay details.
Get cash back.
You just paid $79.95 digitally for Elden Ring.
Pay out the StepPay balance and close account lol.

Essentially paying normal retail price and not having to go through the effort of going in store.

I know it might not be the best option for everyone but it’s still an option to think about.

Wow its $100 online if you buy it just straight out, I have a disc PS5, so never really thought about how discless users will only get the paltry deals that PS Store does and thats it :(. Especially for older disc games that go down to like $20 bucks when PS Store still sells at full price.

Yeah don’t get me wrong here, I’m glad I’ve gone digital but it’s pretty annoying our “RRP” is considered $100. The digital store in the US is the same as their in store rrp of $60. If we had a decent medium of $79 it wouldn’t be so bad. The sales can be really great too, and if you have plenty of patience (owning multiple platforms helps) you can save in the long run. Sometimes though new games can be enticing haha.

Lol it's $65-69 on disc it amazes me people want to save $100 bucks on the console and just get absolutely reemed on the PlayStation store and still defend it

It is $150 actually. But if you dont need a disc drive why buy a standard PS5? Most digital owners value convenience over cost. I got an OG PS4 and only bought 3 physical disc since release. Everything else is digital and the ps4 has travelled multiple countries with me when I had to move for work. Having physical media to me is a such a backwards mentality, including being more environmentally unfriendly with all the additional packaging and plastic. Imagine having to insert a disc every time you want to change a show on Netflix. Oh wait, it is called a BD player.

There are many ways to get a better deal and one of them is setting up multiple region accounts.

      • speak for yourself. I see plenty regret purchases for digital only version

        • I have already spoken for myself. You cant read?

To make everyone happy, they should release the disc version early and then have an update on the day that makes it playable. That way people can at least install any updates and all play it on release at the same time.

Or even have all the files required downloadable through PSN. Lock it until they put the disc in to confirm it’s owned.

  • Get a US account and buy it from there, its cheaper
