Breville The Boss Pro Kinetix Blender BBL915BAL $299.99 Delivered @ Costco (Membership Required)

120

RRP $949 & Reviews https://www.breville.com/au/en/products/blenders.html#featur…

Description
The Boss super blender makes frozen desserts without preservatives, nut butters without salt and sugar, hot soups without flavourings, mayonnaise without emulsifiers, soy milks without stabilisers, and of course green smoothies with the finest texture. A high velocity ProKinetix blade and bowl system pulverises virtually any combination of ingredients. Creating up to 50% smaller particles, this superfine texture can create a smoother mouth feel than some other blenders. The Boss Blender has also been designed with a blending action aimed to protect nutrients. In a 2013 laboratory test a green smoothie recipe made with the Boss Blender delivered up to 24% more Vitamin C than the same green smoothie recipe made in a leading blender. These green smoothie tests also showed higher yields of calcium, magnesium and potassium using the Boss Blender.

Saw the email and clicked the link and went meh. Didn't realise it was so expensive usually. I guess if the RRP is any reflection on the quality of the blender it's a really good deal. We already have a good blender though.

It's $499 at Amazon and usually $399 at Costco so RRP stated is questionable.

Its an 8 year old model, so likely to get replaced at some stage.
I bought one recently at DJs for 380.
    Overall, still good value.

Have had this and the froothie. The froothie is miles ahead of this machine, more powerful and longer lasting. My model failed after the warranty period.

      which froothie?

  • Is anyone able to help with BBL915BAL vs BBL920BAL the super Q and BBL820BAL the Q? I've tried looking for comparisons with the boss without much luck.

920 seems to be newer with more powerful motor (1800W vs 1500W) and increased vibration dampening, ability to attach smaller shake style container, 10vs7 year warranty

820 Q is the lower version of the 920 (1220W), less features, 7yr warranty

915 Boss seems to be the old top of the line, but I cant really tell the difference from a review perspective. Is anyone able to list the differences tech wise between 920 and 915?

    Is general consensus 920 >915 >820?

    Edit: Changed a few things

    • Hey did you end up finding out any more about the differences? I'm in the market for a blender as the bearings and under-blade seals on my ~9-year old Breville have just given up the ghost. If I can get another 9 years out of the next one I'm happy to shell out $499.

No luck beyond my assumptions. I did notice that the Q series seems to be part of a current Breville promotion.

I still think its just the newer product line, probably some iterative upgrades (at least on paper, who knows if you'd notice in real usage without both products side by side).

I didn't end up getting this one as the current cheap Breville is doing well enough for the moment, and I'll run it into the ground before getting a new one.

        • No worries, thanks for taking the time to reply! I'm hoping for a sub $400 deal on either of those models!

  • Can it do iphones ?

  • The way I read the description is that 'it has a really powerful motor with a really sharp blade'. What I'm not sure about is whether it's really much better than a Ninja.

  • Ordered one. Has a 7 year warranty and pretty good reviews.

    • How is it going? I'm super keen to find out if this thing can blend up passionfruit seeds - pretty much the only thing my (now dead) Breville didn't manage to do well.
