Apple iTunes Gift Card, I Messed up

So my parents live in France and I wanted to purchase an Apple gift card for my mum’s birthday so that she could put towards buying a new phone.

I purchase a 500 euros iTunes/app store gift card online to be sent digitally.

It turns out that in France, unlike in Australia, App store/iTunes gift cards can only be used for media. You cannot purchase devices. For that an Apple store Gift card is required.

So here I am with 500 euros worth of French iTunes gift card, which I can’t even redeem here in Australia as it only works in France.

Any suggestions?

      Haha took my a while but I got it!
      They have a website called “Le bon coin”, if you thought Gumtree was full of scammer, this is taking it to another level

    Can't they use it to pay tax or is that only in Oz?

      Only in Oz, their tax department is based in west Africa

    Keep it, as the changes to unify iTune and apple gift card should roll out to Europe soon.
