Buying a Wireless Xbox One Controller for PC

I want to buy a wireless Xbox controller, but I don't know much about them.
I don't mind an open box item as long as it's a genuine Microsoft product.
Does this one look ok?

Will it work wirelessly with my Windows 10 laptop via bluetooth, or do I need to purchase an additional adapter?

Seems to be legit, but can't verify without actual pictures.

It does work with Bluetooth on any device, you don't need to purchase that additional adaptor.

    • Thanks! I guess I can always return/refund it if it turns out to be a fake.

Xbox controllers work great with windows. You can just plug them in via USB and they start working, even without batteries.

However I would recommend you just buy the newer, Xbox Series controllers, just because they are newer and have USB C (vs Micro of the old ones). They also have a Bluetooth profile switch where you can have it paired with two devices and switch between them without having to re-pair.

And I'd say just grab it from JB, it's 89 but at least you can take it back if there is a problem and you know for sure they are genuine Ms.

Thanks! Sadly, I've already ordered the red one, I didn't know "Xbox One S" was an old version. Their model naming system is really confusing.
I had a $30 ebay gift card and $5 off coupon, so I guess for $45 it was still a pretty good deal.

      • All goods, sorry I didn't reply sooner. Oh dude at 45 you got a great deal, I personally still use an Xbox One controller on PC, it's on its last legs and I'll probably replace it soon, but they are plenty fine to play on.

Yeah, the naming scheme is definitely confusing for people not in the know. The Original controller (without Bluetooth and no 3.5mm) is called the Xbox One Controller, then we have the One S controller and now the Xbox Series controller.

$80 for a opened - never used One S controller without batteries is a rip off.

Pay the extra $10 and get the latest Series controllers.

    • Agreed, and it's a factory second.

    • Too late, ebay doesn't let me to cancel my order..
I am not much of a gamer, hopefully the One S controller will still be more than enough for me.

Some Xbox controllers have issues with Bluetooth only connections. You may need to plug them in to your PC via the USBC cable and update the firmware on it. I had to do that with one of mine.

The red looks dope! I bought the black at full price years ago and well worth its cost!
