  • Got the email, will test it out later!

  • Sweet. Loved the other service, had a few teething issues though.

  • Tried it, it worked for about half a song and now it's just continuously buffering and playing nothing until I kill the app. I'll give it the full month though since I like the idea and the subscription price is pretty good.

  • Looks like the music catalogue is still pretty underwhelming though…

I know, right? Search for the pinnacle of all rock music, "Led Zeppelin" and you will be terribly let down :(
On the other hand, search for "Robert Palmer" and you will find all his studio albums plus about 5 different "greatest hits/best of" albums all with the same songs, more or less.

  • Tried it… no buffering for me. Smooth playback.

  • put iOS/Android in title because for a few seconds i thought "DUPE" until i realised its for mobile apps.

I've been using this for 2 weeks and it's great… would be ideal if there was an addin for my media center.

  • Thanks it works fine

  • Good to see an Australian company with a similar concept to rhapsody, even better to see it cheaper than the US service. Great to see it includes Australian charts. I would love to see it as an iPad app.
Also would be good to see integrated into devices similar to rhapsody into the sonos but without the price tag, until then AirPlay works just fine.

  • Why this service will fail:

1.The interface is horrible, slow and buggy.
2.The music catalogue is seriously limited and inconsistent(see my above remarks)
    3.Internet radio is free.

They are sure to expect some teething issues, as mentioned above, but will hopefully be fixed in future versions as they did with the web version.

Yes it may be limited but with more subscribers it should increase.

Internet radio, how is this similar? People want to choose their own songs and what order they are played in.

It may fail if poorly executed however being the size jb is today they didn't get there without knowing what they were doing. With 1 million paying subscribers to rhapsody in the US I would say that they are sitting on a gold mine.

    • Agree on 1 and 2 but you can't compare this to internet radio any more than you can compare a physical music store to terrestrial radio.

One point of failure I've noticed so far is that your playlist on the web site does not sync with the playlist on the device so you can't use the (arguably better but still not great) web based interface to explore and queue up songs then listen to them on your device.

Another point of failure is that the songs/albums they have are not all available to physical purchase, they have Simple Minds X5 on NOW but I wanted to purchase the physical CD and they don't even have it listed on their website, so I'm just going to grab it from iTunes, irony!

  • Anyone one having issues logging in from the iOS app? From my PC it works, but from my iPad or iPod it just hangs at the log on screen.

    • Same happened to me when I first used it, fixed it by closing app running in the background (double click home button (or on ipad drag 4 fingers up to reveal background apps) hold down jb app icon until minus sign appears, click minus sign) then restart app and it should work.
