  I used to always fly Air New Zealand, I'd done return flights over the pacific at least half a dozen times with them. But I had a fully refundable flight with them lined up when covid came along.

  Despite being fully refundable, Air New Zealand charged me a $500 a ticket cancellation fee on a flight they themselves cancelled. Then they screwed me around for months trying to get through to them (they kept sending me the generic info about non-refundable flights only getting a credit valid for 6 months, when that wasn't the case with mine).

  Considering they had lawsuits against them in the end for not refunding people they were legally required to (sadly not in Australia) they completely lost my trust. A shame, because it's one of the nicer flights to Canada from Melbourne (stopover in Auckland instead of LA was a huge plus compared to most airlines, but now I'll take the direct Sydney-Vancouver on Air Canada).

      If you think about it its not too bad actually. That photo angle looks bad but that won't be your POV during the flight.

      You're fully partitioned to the person sitting next to you. And you mostly can only see someone's leg in front of you, which is not a huge privacy concern and is pretty common in most airline seats. Some older business flights are still arranged in traditional linear setup, sometimes without much partition at all.

  Ok OP, so after quite a bit of lookup your deal is only relevant to 4 cities in Canada - Vancouver / Calgary / Toronto / Montreal

    Technically it should only work on routes that are operated by Air New Zealand.
