Some comments on other threads reccomended the AMD face mask as one of the better options for both comfort and filtration, this seems like a pretty good deal as its one of the best prices around for those masks and get a free 5 pack of RAT kits.

Intel presents better value for money option for most consumers atm

    • +3

Any more details on what this refers to? Googled intel face masks and intel rapid tests and not finding anything relevant.

        It was a CPU joke.

        • +14

do you mean.. the intel is a cpu joke?

    • +6

True, given Winter is coming, Intel CPU runs so HOT that you won't need a heater to keep your room warm.

      • A heated face mask, perfect for winter

Shut up and take my money.

I'm not convinced on AMD's masks. Lots of reports of bad quality control. Holes in mask. Straps breaking at the weld point.

    • What's a better P2 (N95) mask brand to buy? I'm looking to get a box or two to keep in the car or near the door since work is reimbursing it.

      • +4

3M are pretty universally accepted as being the benchmark.

if work is reimbursing it, i'd say just buy a box of 3M aura p2 respirators.

      • I have a good stock of both these and the 3m p2 respirators. I think they are both good. AMD very comfy and leakproof, and the 3m are a very snug fit. You can tell you're protected. AMD probably make it easier to talk. Similar good protection from both I feel

      • Try this one https://sydneytools.com.au/product/benehal-8225-20pack-beneh…

It is NIOSH approved so there's that level of confidence. And it is budget friendly at less than $1 per mask.

Otherwise I'd get the 3M Auras (~$3 each) are universally loved. I have some Auras and can confirm they are great.

Been through so many different brands. Find these the best I've used. Can't see that quality control issue at all - unless they were possibly fakes?

Coincidently talking to a seller about a deal on the AMDs this week. I'm not associated, just a happy customer.

They are definitely the most comfortable, I haven't had any quality control issues but they are only good for a day or 2. The 3M ones do seem to last longer and seen better built but aren't as comfortable or easy to breathe through. That's my experience anyway for what it's worth. If you are only putting the mask on intermittently and want the best protection for those instances I'd recommend 3M (be aware there are a few versions though I'm talking about the newer ones without the metal bridge band on the outside) But if you don't mind replacing your mask everyday (it's only about $2 but it's still $2) and you wear it for hours each day the AMD is way more comfortable and breathable but esp if you have a beard/stubble it'll break down (the fabric starts coming loose and fluffing up)
        My 2c anyway :)

        • Which 3m are you talking about? The ones i got 3M 9320A+ and 9105 are very comfortable

          • @brendan0: I had the v-flex ones I'm not sure the exact code but possibly 9105 unless that number is familiar for a different reason. I'm not criticising the mask I'm just saying compared to the AMD they were slightly more difficult to breathe through and because they fit tighter on my face I'd send up with an imprint/redness if I wore them for hours. I think a lot depends on each individual's face size/shape and personal preference. I was just sharing my experience.

            • @Clarky77: The tightness on the face is generally a feature not a bug of headloop masks. It ensures a seal to prevent leakage which is more of a problem of earloops than headloops

Has anyone bought for delivery to Perth metro area? Would they mind sharing what they paid for delivery? Not able to get a delivery price without entering quite a bit of information.

      Just ordered, $10 to perth

      • Thanks for the reply!

    7nm or 14nm?

    • +1

Intel 7 which is 10nm. Marketing xx

      • Intel 7, which is Intel 10nm, which is the same as TSMC 7nm, which is the same as Samsung's 8nm? #whatthehell

        • All same same but different if you know what they mean.

      • +2

I blame TSMC/Samsung for this, their 7nm destiny similar to Intel

  • I don't need the RATs but if they'd give a reasonable discount for just the AMD masks I'd be interested.

  • I got a 50 pack of the 3m's and these AMD recently.

I prefer the 3m's by quite a margin (more comfortable and tighter fit), although the AMD's are passable.

The wife is pretty nonplussed and is fine with the AMD.

    • I learned a new word today! nonplussed… thanks!

      • It's always nice to expand your vocabulary don't you think ;p

  • +3

How's their Threadripper? I read there's a shortage in the market because of mining

    • +2

Haven't seen too many signs of fabric damage to these

(just a joke. Have no clue what the quality is like.)

      • +1

        They use Infinity Fabric.

  • my family uses these but I cant the nose wire is far far too loose if they had a nose wire like the 3M P2 masks they would be far far better.

  • +1

Does an air cooler or AIO suit best for this?

    • +1

If you are not using LN2. Then dont bother.

    waste of money…

  • Rceived the masks and tests just now, 6 days after ordering.

  • I have ordered the AMD Premium P2 mask and Rapid Antigen Test from Southland and it arrived the next day! https://www.southland.com.au/bundle-amd-premium-p2-n95-dispo…

  • Received mine in good time, the rat tests came in handy.
The masks are ok, but I prefer the KF94 - same design but more breathable.
