How long does Amazon.com.au take to deliver packages shipped from Amazon US Warehouses?

Hi hi :)
Hope everyone's well.

While I'm aware there's a rough "eta" on items and delivery times, I find that Amazon goes a bit too far to cover their behinds from delays!
I've been systematically avoiding products shipped from the US, Just worried it'll be way too long.

Any idea how long it typically takes?
I finally bit the bullet and ordered some $500 item as it wasn't available locally.

Thank you so much,
have a great weekend!

edit;

I should probably mention I'm located in VIC, Melbourne inner suburbs, almost metro.

    About a week usually from Amazon US and UK in my experience with Prime. Maybe little more but rarely full 2 week estimate.

    Depends on many factors of course including flight delays, transfers and customs checks.

    I'm in Sydney but typically 1 - 1.5 weeks IME.

    usually just under 2 weeks, worst case a month.

    • That's a pretty terrible case!
      haha, but I hope its as fast as stated in the comments above too.

      Thank you for your time <3 :)

        i am probably a special case, in Tas so stuff usually gets held up waiting to cross the strait.

    Around 8 business days usually, but seems to be close to 2 weeks (10-12 business days) now.

    Meanwhile I've been waiting over a week just for them to ship

    • Yikes! hate the idea of long dispatch time.

    80% of my Prime orders from the US are in Sydney within 4 days. After that somewhere between 4 and 8 days to get to Adelaide CBD.
    The remaining 20% is still within 14 days but I've seen parcels going via Singapore to Sydney and from Sydney to Melbourne to Sydney and than Adelaide.

    • That's horrible!
      However! Get a load of this;

      Ordered 2 dinner sets from Melbourne Based store, Auspost picked it up, took it to Melbourne Airport, then Melbourne Metro, then Melbourne airport. Silence for a while.

      PERTH.

      PERTH AGAIN.

      5 weeks later I got it \o/

    My 2 recent experiences with, Amazon US via Amazon AU tracking.

    https://www.aramex.com.au/tools/track?l=U95004563575 From order placed 8 days for it to get to Australia - 10 days Sydney to Brisbane
    https://www.aramex.com.au/tools/track?l=U95004688193 From order placed 8 days for it to get to Australia - 7 days Sydney to Brisbane

    My record with the same delivery company (formally known as Fastway) pre covid was 7 weeks Amazon refunded me and I got the items a couple of days later.
    The story went the item was damaged because when you shook it it sounded funny. The box contained a hardcover book and several HDMI cables. Book gave it weight and the cables moving apparently made it sound broken.
    So they didn't want to get in trouble for breaking it and only would deliver it provided I didn't complain about the condition. It was in perfect condition.

    • Yikes, saddening to hear its with Fastway.
      Changing the name won't change their reputation :(

    • I've never had an Amazon parcel come via aramex, only ebay.

    Australia Post managed to lose my Amazon US item. Had to wait until the max delivery time frame before I could request a refund.
