Activating Qantas Complimentary Lounge Passes

Hi guys,

I have a Qantas Amex card and want to activate the 2 complimentary Qantas club lounge invitations.

What's the cheapest option without purchasing a Qantas flight?

Are there any updated tricks like the Carbon offsetting one from couple years ago

Book a classic reward ticket, pay the taxes and then cancel it for free.

  This. But I reduced the cash component to $1 which still activated the passes. (The points are refunded quicker than the cash component)

With our ANZ card that includes 2 passes per year, we just call up and request them. They then show up in our passes on the Qantas site the next day. No need to book flights.

I don't understand. You need to fly a Jetstar or Qantas flight to use them (Or a Jetstar/Qantas codeshare flight). You cannot use them otherwise. What need do you have to bypass how to obtain them?

OP, it tells you quite clearly in the terms and conditions as to what the options are for a "Qantas" spend to activate the passes.
