Good Quality Furniture - Where to Buy?

Looking at places like fantastic furniture, amart furniture etc… don't seem to be the highest quality materials.

Looking for a dining table set, sideboard, tv unit.

Any advice on where to look for higher quality solid wood furniture?

  • There may be shopping centres with dozens of furniture stores to peruse like Supa Centa Moore Park in your area that may be of interest.

If you don't mind secondhand you can often pick up old, but solid, furniture on Gumtree and Facebook Marketplace.

We have replaced some furniture recently, and even the somewhat more costly stuff is junk, poorly made and flimsy.
If there is a possibility of buying secondhand older pieces I would definitely encourage it.

Good Australian made local solid wood furniture is hard to find and not cheap.

If you get the same standard solid high quality materials from overseas then you are paying much higher shipping which translates to about the same prices as locally made.

you could just google woodworker or custom furniture..

I would recommend B2C furniture being decent quality for money. Proper hardwood without being crazy expensive

If you can find a place nearby that makes custom furniture locally, that might be a good option.

I go to The Furniture trader for quality solid wood furniture. Their quality/price ratio are the cheapest I've seen so far. They import their furniture from Vietnam so theres usually 1-2 month shipping times. Local aussie made wooden furniture are double to triple the price.

  • Hard rubbish is coming up.

  • fantastic furniture, amart furniture - lower end
ikea - freedom - lower plus one
then plush , nick scali, (some of them use aussie timber made in china, these days it will take light years to get your order )
then the aussie made, just google it, you will find few, I think our good old friend HN got few as well.

  • The stuff I've bought from https://eurekastreetfurniture.com.au/ has all been very solid and held up well. In saying that, Amart and Ikea can be decent if you don't choose the absolute cheapest items they stock.
