Mi 1C Handheld vacuum charging problem

My Mi 1C Handhelf vacuum developed the same charging problem that people complained about on here. Now it's not charging at all. Completely dead, no charging lights come on when it is plugged in at all. Some people have said they had luck using other chargers.

I've had the vacuum for over a year, I assume there is no warranty in effect?

1) Is there anyone in Melbourne (SE or inner SE) who has one of these vacuums and could please let me try plugging in using your charger for a minute so I can see if it's the charger or the unit?

2) If it turns out it is the charger that is the problem, can anyone please suggest a reliable charger for this vacuum?

I'd hate to have to bin this vacuum, which worked pretty nicely when it was working.

Thanks.

  • I've had the vacuum for over a year, I assume there is no warranty in effect?

One year warranty may be over but ACL coverage is not if you purchased it in Australia. Contact the retailer and quote ACL repair.

    • Which section applies?

    • What’s the ACL warranty period on a hand vac?

It seems after a quick Google as though there’s no set period and it depends on the type of product, whether it was new or second hand, if it’s usage was considered normal, it’s original cost etc.

I have the same issue with an Aldi hand vac that no longer charges, tries to trouble shoot but without extra parts it’s kind of hard. Sucks to know it’ll just end up in landfill. I don’t consider 3 years of life acceptable for a hand vac, but it was only $30 I guess.

      • There's no set ACL guarantee period for any product. It's all woolly words like "acceptable" and "reasonable" so if it's just over a year, pretty safe bet to quote ACL coverage.

        If it's a 5 year old $50 gadget, I wouldn't bother.

  • Did you get it from gearbite? My stick vaccum cost $75-100 (don’t 100% rmb) for repair which included freight both ways and a repair. Works now but is really poor at holding charge.

I prob could have fought for acl.
