  • You can have much a much better deal with Officeworks: $598 (before cashback), free same day delivery ($3.95 handling) + bonus wine cooler bag + bonus 2 piece luggage set

    • +1. Everywhere is selling the Acer Aspire One at around the same price. The office works extras make it a deal breaker.

  • Another not very good deal.

  • Watch the timing of the cashback - I believe it ends on the 30th.

  • if acer can make standard notebook only for sub $500.. then acer netbook should be less than this current pricing :p

    • Could not agree more.

You can buy a full size more powerful ACER for around that.

The mini laptop should be around $250/$300

I believe the MS Shysters charge a lot for the Windows program/

      Cheers

  • Acer aren't doing themselves any favours here. Some retailers say the cashback has been extended to 31-10-08, some link to a page on Acer's site which still says 30-09-08.

The itchoice website has the list price of the xp-home version as $598, and says the $99 cashback has been extended to 31-10-08, making the final price $499.
They also have the linux version for $519, less $99 cashback, final price $420.

The cheapest on staticice is MegaPC who have the linux version for $466, yet their website says there is no cashback.
I guess you could take a chance on ordering it from megapc and submitting the claim form, but who knows if it will work?
If Acer negotiate the cashback per-retailer you could be out of luck.

This is why I prefer a simple discount over a cashback, any day of the week.
