Really want to play GT7, but these launch prices are ridiculous. Hopefully it drops in price fairly quickly.

    • +4

I'm in no rush. When I finish Horizon I'll be more keen.

      • +3

Yeah I am in the same boat, I have Elden Ring and Horizon to get through, and then a few others from good deals lately, so they should keep me going until GT7 gets to a good price.

        • I've just started RDR2 after finishing the first one on PS3 last night

Then I've got Assassin's Creed, God of War, Ghosts of Tsushima, Spider-Man Miles Morales.

No rush at all for me.

          • +1

@giventofly: LOL, RDR2 I bought 2 Christmas' ago and it's still in the wrapper along with Doom, GoW…

            • @raybies: I was going to be snarky, but then I remembered I also have GoW sitting unopened…

              Halp

    • Just play it on Game Pa…oh.

      😉🙃

      • -2

I love how these comments get begged. Can't tell if it's butthurt PlayStation fanboys trying to justify paying $125 for first party titles at launch or Xbox fanboys trying to hide how great they have it

        • +3

I can see how people might have taken it as me being a fanboy troll. But it honestly was meant to be a joke.

          • @kungfuman: How is GT better than Forza?

          • +3

            @kungfuman:

are you jeolous that GT 7 is better than Forza Horizon 5? can't hear you over the pile of crap that game is on xbox and PC. Also if you own an Xbox buy a PC ya tight arse. HA!!

Come down mate. It's just video games.

            • @PainToad: The guys comment history is anti-Xbox, and so he writes as though he were 16, and if indeed he is older than that age and still talks like this then I pity him.

      • Wait, does xbox get these brand new games on Game Pass?? Is every new game on game pass??

        • Every new first party game. i.e. if such a thing existed on PlayStation, we'd get guy, horizon, Spiderman, god of war, etc free day one

          • +1

@King Steuart: “Free on game pass” is maybe poor wording. The games are accessible on game pass via a subscription. I love XGP and can't wait for Sony to compete in this space, but it's not free.

          • +1

@King Steuart: Ah so only the Microsoft owned games are on there. That makes a lot of sense, pretty good value for those who play a lot no doubt.

            • +1

              @Smol Cat:

Ah so only the Microsoft owned games are on there.

Not only MS games at all. They're just the ones guaranteed to be their day one. But many third-party games end up on Game Pass or are there from release such as Back 4 Blood.

              • @PainToad:

                Back 4 Blood.

Damn, paid full pre-order price for this on PS5 haha already deep in the red!

    • +8

      Its actually worth it.
Im a big GT fan, and the last few games have been terrible.
But GT 7 is so good!! I've started selling my other ps5 games, because I know I wont be playing them anymore.

    • -1

154 bucks for the 25th edition is standard since you get some good cars and credit with it.

if you buy these all separate you would have paid more. that price includes many DLCs.

      • +6

The thing I liked about the earlier GTs was it took time to earn the cars. I don't want a Ferrari on day 1.

      • +3

You've been well and truly conned by dlc dude. Shits worth next to nothing regardless of where they put the cost.

      • sold my PS4 + DLC for $80, love grinding for credits. I just love the steelcase for collection, wish they come with the keyring like some countries though.

    • You guys have PS5's?

      • +1

Had mine since day 1 but they really aren't that hard to get from retail stores if you put in a little effort to keeping an eye out and putting your name down for stock. Had a friend decide he wanted one a few weeks back and he told me on the weekend that he scored one from Harvey Norman by having his name put down.

      • Yeh but it's still sitting in the box..

  • +2

Wow that's a pretty good deal on the Animal Crossing Switch if you have eBay Plus

  • +1

it would be good if ebay has Thrustmaster racing wheel deal

  • +2

Download on the GT7 is ridiculous, 90gb! Even if you had the disk!

    • +11

That’s been normal for years now…

      • Well, that’s NOT normal.

    • +5

That is probably because the day 1 disk is probably a broken mess like all new games are and the 90gb patch fixes there laziness.

    • +3

you surprised of this? the standard for games is about 100gb now a days.the fact its under 100 is amazing.

      I have a 2tb NVME drive in my ps5 so…. doesn't worry me.

    • Had the same problem. If you disconnect your PS5 from the internet and then insert the disc, it will install the game from the disc. Once the disc install is complete, reconnect to the internet and download the patch which was roughly 15gb or so.

GT7 is $92.07 delivered at BigW eBay for eBay Plus Members

  • +7

Loving GT7 on PS5. It's a true return to form. My only complaint is I wish the music would seamlessly play between menu's. As it is the music track changes every time you go to a different menu or accept a mission etc, it is jarring and you never hear a track for more than 5 sec.

    • I just have a Spotify playlist I play on the PS5 as my BG music - don't like the selection of music in the newer iterations.

  • +4

If you buy and actually play, most people have 3 month price protection on their CC
Chances are it'll drop to $60-70 within that time and you can claim.

I don't game much, I generally pay $25-35 for games.

    It looks good tho!

    • +7

most people have 3 month price protection on their CC

      huge assumption there

      • +1

Yeah! Some of us have 12 months ;)

      • -1

Well alot flip credit cards on here, and the AVG person has a credit card so chances are their card has PP

I wouldn't say huge assumption, but an assumption

        • -1

I thought that feature has been extinct on new credit cards for years now

          • @Slut: Is it? I thought most cards have it? It's 3 months tho

            Older cards had 12 months.

    • +1

Returnal (PS 1st party game) has barely budged price wise since launch (11 months ago)

      • What are you smoking? Ps5 it's been as low as $38, and $50

        • +2

Those were clearanced in all fairness.

        • Not to mention that I snagged Nioh Collection for $18 before…

        • Unobtainable deal for me (ACT). The digital prices have not dropped below 25% for 1st party games toy recollection

  • +5

    So… Any bargains?

  • Was planning to get about GT7 but then realised how much I love Forza on my laptop, which is free with XBOX game pass. I can't believe how well it runs on my mid-range GT1650 and it is fun to play from the start, without the long slow grind of upgrading old slow cars.

    • -5

I didn't realise gamepass is free? You don't pay for it? You're actually renting games.

      • +3

richieisnow said "which is free with XBOX game pass" for which they're not wrong, there is no added cost to play if you already have Game Pass.

At $94 for GT7 that's roughly a year of Gamepass (or almost 2 years if you do the Ozb trick of buy overseas codes); it well and truely pays for itself.

But yes you're right its similar to renting lots of games just with a much longer return window.

        • -5

Who the hell wants an Xbox though? There's a reason you can't find a PS5 anywhere, and is more about availability with an Xbox lol

          • -3

@[Deactivated]: I bought the limited edition XBSX but it has too much overlap with PC (gamepass) and PS5. I ended up selling it for a little bit profit

  • +8

I guess I still haven't grown up since I still giggle when seeing the name thrustmaster with code PLUSTHRUST

  • Awesome! Going to buy up those Animal Crossing Switch, 20 of them at $370. Broden them at $1k a piece. Oh wait. I don't have a time machine.

    • -2

maybe buy all 20 of mine, they're (profanity) worth nothing

  • Stop it. I'm trying my hardest not to buy GT7 and this isn't helping.

    • it's worth every cent! haha

      • I know, I know. I just can't justify the price. I'll just wait.

  • Any advice for Thrustmaster TCA Boeing vs Honeycomb Alpha Yoke? I'm just getting started on Microsoft Flight Simulator

    • +1

Either will work for all planes but the Thrustmaster will give more of an authentic feel for passengers jets. The flaps lever would be pretty cool on the Thrustmaster, it would just be an up/down toggle in the alpha

    • Rudder pedal are pretty essential I would add. I couldn't really use mine without them

  • Thank you! I got the Animal Crossing switch. Wanted it for awhile but couldn't justify it over $400.

  • +2

GT has been the primary reason to purchase most of the PlayStation consoles and steering wheels I've gotten over the years.

  • +3

Just a FYI, Sony has flicked the switch on Microtransactions for GT7 and it's well…disgusting. $40 to buy the Lambo, yes $40, FUC3kn dollars for a in game car.

    They can go F themselves.

    • +2

….or don't buy the lambo, maybe?

    • +6

Or just play the game and get it for free?

      • Quick read online since the MTs have flicked online says it'll be a WHILE before you get that car, to the point it feels like grinding.

And hold on a fuc#n minute. Why are we excusing predatory behaviour from Sony? The cars are all on the disc already, it's not like a DLC, they're already installed on your PS5, and yet they want $40 to unlock it?

  • +3

GT7 is worth every cent as I'll play it to completion. Other games I might buy cheaper at $70, but they sit there 50% complete.

    • +1

definitely a game to grind and getting back to every now and then!

  • GT7 is only $78 on Amazon for Prime members

    • +2

      Not for ps5 still $98

      • Ah yeah well spotted, thanks for clarifying.

  • Need an eBay Plus voucher. Cancelled mine when.it was about to renew.

  • I am going on a cruise soon and would like to stay indoors as much as possible to avoid swingers. How well does this measure up if I brought along my PS4?

    https://www.ebay.com.au/p/7039973580

  • Bought GT7 (haven't bought a new video game in a very long time), and have to say it's been really good to play and the graphics look great! Some licence tests can be challenging to get gold on, the "missions" are decent fun, there's a little grinding, but I don't feel any pressure to get "faster" cars or rush progression (if that makes sense). Only thing that makes me sad is the variety of cars seems limited compared to the old days of GT3/4 and you have to pay to play multi-player races. The "used cars" area is a bit of a let down too, compared to older versions of the game.
