Same deal as last year.

Register and/or Join this comp on FootyTips.com.au.

  • Don't sign up for the "OzBargain" comp. Sign up for OFFICIAL OzBargain.
  • Prizes will only be given out to OzBargain or ChoiceCheapies members. You need to be an OzBargain or ChoiceCheapies member(Warriors supporters!) prior to April 3, 2022.
  • 1 FootyTips member per OzBargain/ChoiceCheapies Account (only 1).
  • If winners don't respond within 7 days of notification, prize will be forfeited.

Prizes:

  • AFL
    • $100 for the top tipper at the end of the season.
    • $75 for 2nd best tipper at the end of the season.
    • $50 for 3rd best tipper at the end of the season.
  • NRL
    • $100 for the top tipper at the end of the season.
    • $75 for 2nd best tipper at the end of the season.
    • $50 for 3rd best tipper at the end of the season.

AFL Season starts on March 16.
NRL Season starts on March 10

FAQ

Sorry I’m new to this. What is this/ what is it for?
Footy Tipping is an Aussie/Kiwi tradition of picking what sports teams win every round typically for AFL & NRL.
Do we need to use our OzBargain member name?
No
I have an Footytips account from previous years, can I use that to join the comp?
Yes
Wondering though but how come OzBargain isn't using the offical AFL tipping comp?
Never used it, have always used Footytips especially as you can tip multiple sports, in this case NRL & AFL.

      They, as in me? Sometimes I can match up the info here, otherwise will send an email or use Footy Tipping's PM function to ask for the username.

      Yes probably only really an issue if you win at the end of the season.

    Is there a way to join 1 but not the other? When I join it signs me up to both AFL and NRL

      Just don't put your tips in for whatever you don't want to do. I never do the NRL part as I know nothing about it.

          Nope. I only have AFL selected in my settings so only get reminders for that & only AFL in the dropdown.

              @bobwokeup: Oh in the app, don't use the app. I just got an NRL reminder email despite having them off in my settings.

              I think I worked it out. When I click unsubscribe at the bottom of the NRL email, it says:

              You will no longer receive Site Announcement emails.

              I guess you need to switch those off.

                @neil: Yeah in the app. Checked my settings too and it was turned off for NRL. Same thing happened last year too. I sent them an email but unfortunately still not fixed.

    my footy-tips email has nothing to do with my OZB email, I tried to change it once but they didn't let me, anyway I'm a shocking tipper, so I wont be troubling the scorers, so to speak, but I big thanks to Neil for making things a bit more interesting! Cheers!

    The ESPN footytips site and app have issues. I had a problem with my account so I deleted it and tried to re-create it but that fails because "the email address is already in use". Of course, when I try to log in with that address then it says "account does not exist". Try to contact customer support via the web page but it just puts a red box around my email address and will not accept it (does not say why). My wife tried to create an account but it just failed during creation and says to contact customer support but also will not accept her email address. No wonder the app has a 2.0 star rating.

        The footy comp has always been run for regular season only. The traditional reason is that many years ago when I signed up for FootyTips.com.au to use for our workplace footy tipping comp, we'd end it at the regular season as we'd have a footy lunch on the Friday before the Grand Final. We'd wear our footy colours, have some pies & beer and announce the winner of the tipping comp.

          Ah okay, nice. Maybe change the actual competition settings on the website for next year though so that it's less misleading and reflects the correct end round. I know the setting exists somewhere, maybe when you set up the comp, since I've seen other groups do it on the same website!
