Sports Tipping Comp

Hey everyone,

Hope this is OK to post. A little late but just getting the word out there about my tipping platform.

I have developed an online sports tipping platform. It's free for all to join and I have a cash prize pool for the 2022 NRL season. The platform currently supports NRL, AFL and NFL. I understand people are keen on A-League tipping but considering the season has already begun that will be something for next season!

If you're keen on a free tipping comp and a crack at a cash prize pool head over to https://www.tipon.com.au and sign up.

Cheers.

    Can you elaborate on this:
    5) Using the buyback feature will incur a cost of -1 (minus one) point to your total for the respective week.
    6) Each correct tip will award 1 (one) point.

So if i foolishly tip Nth Melb to beat Melb - I will end uo with zero points when Melb win.
But I could use the buyback to change tip to Melb at a cost of -1, and when Melb win I get +1, so net zero.
    What is the point?

    What am I missing here?

    • Well it is really there for people who miss the start of the week. However, I figured with covid and the uncertainty that comes along with it, it may be a good idea to allow people to change tips given player(s) may be ruled out on short notice or the schedule is changed.

Of course, it may be a bad idea, and this is displayed by your example. However, if someone has no tips for the week then there is a benefit and if you choose to change several tips then you may benefit from it.

In short, it really is there for those who have missed tipping prior to the first game of the round. Perhaps "Buyback" is a bad name?

OK, so it costs you -1 to edit all tips…. in which case it makes sense.
Maybe I didn't read that properly or maybe it needs clarity.
Perhaps call it a change of mind fee.

Thanks for the comment. Sometimes it's hard to tell if what you've written makes sense if you're the only one who reads it.

        • Also, would you think it is a more attractive function if the penalty was 1/2 a point?

          • @TipOn: -1 is OK, shouldn't complicate things with half points.

  • Hope this is OK to post.

If you are not sure about something, it's always good manners to ASK first.
