MacBook Air (for Education)

I wanted to get a MBA 13.3 M1 with 8GB ram and 256GB SSD. On apple website this is $1349 (education store).

On Amazon, the same MBA is $1359 (not education pricing)

  1. Is it generally better to buy the MBA from Apple directly or via other third party sellers such as Amazon/JB etc.

  2. Where can I get a better price for the MBA in this case?

Any thoughts?

Apple have two week return window, even if you've opened it and set it up. Amazon website says you can't return stuff if the seal has been broken on the package. So if there's a chance you will want to return it and get one with more storage or memory for example then buying from Apple is better. Otherwise Apple will give you the same support no matter where you bought it, and you can still get Apple Care no matter where you buy it too.

Apple ship stuff very quickly, express. But Amazon is known for very quick delivery too.

    • Thanks bro. Haven't thought of that!!

    Buy through here buddy. https://www.apple.com/au_edu_5000447/shop/buy-mac/macbook-ai…

If you really want to OzBargain it. Buy it through there using 10% discount gift cards ;) and use the cashrewards… (not sure you can do that too tbf)

    • Well this is interesting. that price is even cheaper than the education pricing I saw on Apple.
What is the difference between your link and the normal one?

        The fact that it’s cheaper…

Jokes aside. It’s an education union link. Fairly frequently posted on ozb.

The same exact product of course. All the same things apply from above, free 14 day no question refunds etc etc.

Thanks mate. Wasn't aware of the education union link previously. Really appreciated your help. I saved another $54!

    for Education
I wanted to get a MBA

Thought you want to get a Masters, rather than an Apple product…

  • Typing on my M1 Air rn.

1000% worth it for Education. By far the best computer for Uni/School, has all the things a student will need (including the missing gaming capability).

Apple store Melbourne Uni is the best price, but normal education store is around 70 bucks more.

    Delivery is also very fast.

    • Cool. What mouse would you recommend mate? Any other accessories to go with?
