Want to Buy Panasonic Bread Maker

Hi all
I'm interested in buying a Panasonic bread maker given we're having 3 loaves of bread a week. Interested in both new ones and second hand ones. Located in South East Melbourne.
Cheers

U can if u believe u can, op

  • Wish you lived in Brisbane, I’d gladly give you mine! My husband purchased it from Amazon two years ago. We used it around five times. Now it is sitting in the garage together with the ice cream maker, sandwich press, rotisserie oven and slow cooker.

    • That's what I'm scared of lol.

      • Bread makers also make the best pizza dough…

Are you just looking for excuses to use your new Panasonic Eneloops?

I started making my own bread and was initially looking at bread makers. Instead, I'm using my food processor. I'm trying bread mixes for now….Chuck it all in, mix it till a dough forms, cover machine with a towel for 90 mins. Then a quick pulse mix, tip out onto floured board, shape and into pan. Then I put it into warmed oven for an hour to rise….and then 35mins to cook it. Very happy with results. I was hesitant to buy a bread maker in case I lost interest….and I'm glad I didn't.

With a bread maker, you just push a button and wait until the sweet smell of fresh bread fills the room…

    • Suzique, I’ve been doing this for some time too. It doesn’t take that long and the bread tastes much better than what we used to make in the bread maker.

  • We still use our Breville one.

Have had it for almost 20 years.

We have a Panasonic bread maker. Yes, it is in the garage now, after two years of use. It is very good bread maker in terms of consistency and making various bread types. Very easy to use, just put the ingredients, turn it on at bed time and wake up to a fresh loaf. The mixing stage is noisy at night though. Cleaning is very easy too.
We don't eat that much bread, so gradually lost interest in it. If you use plain flour with no bread improving additives, the loaf is only fresh and soft for a day and then turns into a brick.
Overall I would recommend it if you don't mind spending some money and be prepared to give up on the idea down the road.

My relatives make their bread manually which is way better than any store bought or machine made bread. It takes time to perfect the manual process and it's not a one press of a button process for sure.

  • I have a Panasonic SD-2501 bread maker that has seen weekly use for years
Before that, I think I had another P anasonic, or was it a Breville
Anyway, get a Panasonic and put a couple of tea spoons of crushed garlic in, it smells grouse when it is cooking,
and it smells grouse again when you make toast with it; Vegemite toast of coarse
I make my loaf with around 100g multi grain & 400g white & 250ml water
I don't use any setting. I let it mix for 20 mins, then stop the machine & take out the mixing paddle (wet your hands doing this)
Let the dough rise for about an hour. Then cook the thing for 55 mins.
Take it out & place it on a wire rack to cool, or cut it open & butter it up and eat with tomatoes, onions, salami, ham, cheese, anything you like
