Samsung LC49RG9 49" QLED Dual QHD 120hz Gaming Monitor $1359 + Delivery Only @ JB Hi-Fi

220

Was in the market for a new monitor deciding between the AW3821DW and this. Then found this pretty good deal, I think its the cheapest its been( yes this is the older model but apparently less buggy). The g9 neo is crazy expensive.

  • Is this the monitor with just 10 dimming zones if so I'm not interested.

    • Correct. If you're looking for HDR gaming in a UW screen of this size, your only option is the mini-led G9 NEO.

      • If budget/space allows 3 CX OLEDs is a great option.

I have this monitor, been great for productivity and the gaming on it can be quite immersive with the size and curve. That said, if you're looking at this for HDR gaming you'll prob be disappointed.

  • I use mine for gaming and it is still an excellent screen.

    It’s currently $1199 plus additional $200 Gift card at HN = $999

      Diff models, 5120 x 1440 vs 3840 x 1080

      • My mistake, didn’t know they had so many different 49” monitors

  • Of OPs two options I would go with the Dell. I prefer that screen ratio :)

    • The Dell is smaller though?

Anybody got any opinions on this vs AOC AG493UC, I have been keen to upgrade from 2 27" to a single 49" and the AOC seems to have a few more display inputs plus usb-c?

    • 4ms vs 1ms…

I'm liking the AOC monitor specs…

      nice find :)

    • Did you buy the AOC?

      So so tempted

      • Yea i ended up ordering from Amazon, managed to get some vouchers through credit card reward points to knock off some of the price.
Not due to arrive till 4th April through… Sooo much waiting….

      • all good monitors, just a note before you buy the AOC panel only supports 8 bit content (Samsung supports 10bit). I watch alot of content in 10 bit hence a issue.

btw I choose the AW3821DW because really wanted the 21:9 and the extra height with no black bars while watching movies that support the ratio

      • Screen came yesterday, have finished plugging in and setting up, so far so good.

Have found it to be a little fiddly to change between the single and pbp setup, but other than that been good so far :)
