Is TitanTech IT a scammer?

Howdy all. I recently purchased a build from TitanTech IT which said the build time is approx. 4 days. I emailed him a few days after and he said 3 weeks or so. Not going to lie… was pretty annoyed as I didn't think it would be that long. A week later I emailed him to see if there was any updates on the ETA (I'm flying interstate so need to know if I can get it beforehand). No reply so I gave it a few days. This morning I followed up again. No reply.

The reason I went with him was because he had some favourable Google reviews. After further inspection (should have done this before) they're mostly fake. Either profiles with very generic names, stock photo and only 1 review or worse - fake accounts which have been leaving reviews in Belgium, London and then TitanTech lol.

Any suggestions as to what I should do? I'm happy to give a few days but now I'm seriously worried I was scammed out of $2300.

    Likely just busy…

which said the build time is approx. 4 days. I emailed him a few days after

    Really?

    • The listing says 2-4 days.

All good as long as he delivers!

        Usually ready in 2-4 days

The keyword there to cover themselves. Usually and not always ;)

Usually means more often than 50% of the time, 3 weeks means usually is not a very good indicator of success.

So it is wildly inaccurate. If they took the sum of their customers wait times and averaged it out, that should be what the listing says.

@garetz: I don't think it says that in the dictionary.

@Clear: I consider usually to mean more often than not.

  • I ordered a processor from them and was promptly delivered. In your case OP they should have given you a realistic timeframe but they are legit.

  • Probably waiting on specific parts that haven't come in.

Message @Titan Tech, who was online an hour or so ago. You may find that you can upgrade/downgrade a part that's causing the delay.

  • Nah he's legit.
I bought my PC from him 2 years ago from Ozbargain also.

I would pretty pissed about the build time saying 4 days and then being delayed to 3 weeks though

Imagine how much faster it'd be if they didn't have to answer annoying emails .

    • OP has the right to be annoyed given the circumstances but the only thing I'd say is after they updated the time frame to 3 weeks and you accepted, emailing back and expecting an ETA a week later is a bit annoying from their perspective.

Also we don't know how the emails have been worded so no context there. If OP post the emails then we'd know.

It's annoying to ask when you're $2,300 pc build will be ready so you can plan pickup when interstate? If that annoys your than geez I feel sorry for ya bud.

    • Nah brah..not annoyed here

Buy locally, buy off the shelf..or wait

  • legit business but horrendous service…
    My experience -
Paid over $3000 for a PC, the CPU cooling is not working, windows isn't activated, the secondary hard drive is no where to be seen and when I opened the box the GPU was just hanging in the case not even seated.
I have rang both their 1800 and mobile numbers multiple times, left voicemails, sent SMS and emails and no response. Appalling service and looking at other reviews on here it appears the 5 stars are fake. BUYER BEWARE

    • Update: all issues are resolved, finally got a hold of Isaac who was quite helpful, engaged a local company nearby to me and they quality checked everything and plugged in the cables that were missed. Good resolution in the end.

  • They might have stopped operating!
35 unanswered calls, 1 month of no responses to my messages on Facebook, instagram and text. His 1800 number is disconnected and his email bounces! Still waiting to find out where my PC is and if I'm ever going to get it!

If you were planning on buying from this guy don't! $4000 potentially down the drain with no explanation

  • Still waiting on my $3299 PC I ordered 7th March. No contact from seller. Definitely dodgy. Do not order from them (Isaac Kenney)
