Best BBQ with a Budget of $800

I'm after a BBQ. I've been looking at the weber family Q which looks solid but waiting for a sale is requiring a lot of patience! Just curious to hear if anyone has recommendations for any others? It won't need to be portable as we have a baby Q already. Looking for something that can feed up to 8-12 people.

Thanks in advance!

  • Was about to say a Weber.
    But you already have one…

    • Yeah the baby Q is good for my partner and I when we are camping but hosting people at our place just wouldn't work!

What are you going to use it for? Weber's generally the 'best' gas BBQ. I'd argue that a good charcoal BBQ is way better than a gas one. Get way better flavour than gas

    • Harder to use though so you'll have to weigh that up.

    • I guess I am after a gas barbecue. As the other poster mentioned the ease of use is hard to go by.

      • If you are looking for a practical, decently priced large BBQ then the Matador Conquest / Titan models from Bunnings are in that price range. The Titan is a steal compared to the Weber Summit range with similar features and excellent build quality given the price as the $1399 Titan 6 has pretty much the same feature set as the Summit E-670 which RRP's at $5589.
The Conquest 6 would be the one in your price range at $799 and its very similar to the higher end Genesis II range that go for $2500+.

Yes I know - they are not a Weber therefore must be similar to cooking with sticks over burning dried cow dung according to the Weberrites on the board however they work well, are easy to use / clean and offer feature parity with Weber's large traditional gas offerings at around 25-35% of the price.

  • Tried Facebook/Gumtree? We've got a used Family Q that we picked up for a fair bit off retail, in pretty good nick.
