Yeah, nah. Daily is not enough. You've gotta be spamming refresh, or rely on alerts, and even then.
You need a LOT of luck. I've been on within minutes for the recent Target, Sony, and BigW drops, and no dime.

So what’s the go with these preorders at ebgames? Any chance it will come to the end of the month, and they’ll turn around and say “sorry, we don’t have enough stock”?
I did manage to get a preorder through, after first failing on the starlight blue (then went cosmic red and managed to get through). I’m just wondering if this is a sure thing, and I can stop racing to get one online via other stores within 3 secs of a drop!
From experience, they actually had stock and I was able to pickup before ETA.
It's a pre order. Likely EB have been informed by SIE they will receive a certain number of PS5 under allocation. If you get in early a much greater chance of being in the pre order.
If you've successfully ordered, you're on lock for a console when they arrive so long as you pick it up in the allocated time dictated by your EB World level once they ring you.

Unlikely as the component shortage means they don't need to go the extra Limited Editions effort as they currently sell everything they make or can get out of the factory. LE consoles are released to boost sales. Something SIE don't need to do at this point in time.
It would be more likely to release limited edition side panels than entire consoles.

@[Deactivated]: There's exactly my point. Blogspam projection for clicks based on something utterly unrelated. Companies patent tech all the time, much of it doesn't see the light of day. There is no direct relation to a new model coming out there so again, there is no "news" of a PS5 Pro. It's speculation for clicks.

@[Deactivated]: It doesn’t make any sense to release a Pro model at this stage. They aren’t even able to meet current demand. Releasing a Pro model will damage current sales and they’d be having an even harder time to produce enough consoles.
@FireRunner: No it wont damage any sales, it is already selling out within hours, you nor I know what they will do with an up and coming possible release, but I am more than happy to wait.
PS4 Pro was release 2 years after initial PS4. PS5 is almost 18 months old, the way Sony has been releasing their previous models it falls into line with their history.
Again I am more than happy to wait.
@[Deactivated]: It took 3 years to get PS4 Pro after PS4. I doubt it will be different this time. It might take even longer due to shortages.

Ordered but got no confirmation email, been over 30 mins.
It will take longer than usual for confirmation emails. Someone at EB will be allocating consoles against timestamp submitted pre order details. The pre order happens so fast there will always be a few unfortunately that end up cancelled. Confirmation emails might not go out for at least 30 minutes.

Got the call today and swung by to collect mine. Got it running this arvo to start installing GT7, then daughter found Astro's Playroom on there and I've not had the controller back since. haha.
Kudos to OP for the post - was a tough call for me though, cheap RTX 30 series, or MSRP PS5….
RTX will have to wait now until either tax time or RTX 40 series.
i might regret later not getting the midnight black bundle, but am i right in saying whats the point in playing new gen when plenty of people play old gen, i guess for me specially i just don't see the point i also have a pc. but if anyone got a different opinion feel free to let me know the advantages of the ps5
Exclusives + cbf sitting at pc to game after spending all day sitting at pc to work. But you're mainly paying for the exclusives.
Even ps4 games run better and load significantly faster on ps5.

Hehehe.. I'd been literally refreshing this page for the past many days and the EB page itself to get one. Oh well.. Annoying part is I had one and sold it because there was nothing to play at the time and Game Pass seemed superior. I thought they'd recover the shortage after 1.5 years….
Personal opinion only: I still don’t see PS5 as an attractive proposition compared to the Xbox Series X (game pass etc.)
Unless you have a gaming pc in which case the Xbox is redundant.
Unless you've drop $1000+ on an amazing gpu with cpu and ram to match, xbox isn't really redundant.
I myself had a 3yo pc but I game mostly on my xbox as I'm not willing to spend another 2k to usage my hardware.
I have a XBOX series S and X and the only thing that draws me to PS4/PS5 is GT Sport / GT 7. You're right as I too have a deep reservation inside that it's a lot to pay just to play GT 7 (for me). If I'm honest, part of the drive to get a PS5 is the rarity. GT Sport (and once GT7 is fixed) run fine on my PS4 pro.. so far.
It depends really. I'm still not really sure which one I want to get.
Xbox - Game pass, great emulation device
PS5 - Controller is more interesting (when games take advantage of it), all the games I currently own on PS4 will work on it + get a speed boost in most cases
It can rely a bit on what you had previous gen, but Sony is still yet to unveil their version of gamepass so it could be interesting.
I have Xbox series X pre-ordered from eb games. If anyone is interested in swapping it for their ps5 please let me know. I am in Sydney. Will pay what ever the difference is.
Xbox is readily available. PS5 is the hard one to nab. But you might get lucky
