Ghouls and Ghosts was the sequel to the arcade original Ghosts and Goblins - This is the latest in the same series.
I played Ghouls 'n Ghosts at Grundys (Surfers Paradise) when it was released in 1988. Put endless tokens through it trying to reach the end.
As for Ghosts 'n Goblins, it first showed up at my local milk bar in late '85. Poured 20c pieces into it but never finished it.
Now have both on RetroPie/MAME and still can't finish either, lol.
I finished but had to use tonnes of save states lol
I could never get more than a few minutes into the original. Way too hardcore
Along with Aladdin, Lion King.. 3 games that I was never able to finish
I thought you'd be ok with a power level > 9000
yep I would buy this for 10 bucks.
The original is considered one of the hardest games to beat on one life.
I used to play the original back in the day in the arcades and on the C64 and Amiga too. Great memories.
Is there a physical copy for this? I am a sucker for physicals ;)

Original was a amazing looking for its time, but ridiculously hard.
If only this series had 8 directional firing it'd be perfect
