How is Hyundai Palisade 2022 and what are the best price you can get?

Looking to buy a 7 seater SUV with a big enough 3rd row. Looks like Palisade is the only option below $100k. What is the best price you can get so far? I know in the current market it is very hard to get a better price. I tried many dealers and brokers the best price I can get is 64k for an Elite – 7-seat petrol model in WA. Also, I can wait do you guys think the car price will drop in about 12 months time?

    • Palisade 7 seaters has a gap in the middle of the 2nd row this is way better than other SUV and a big enough 3 row which is much more comfortable than Kluge and Prado

So everything else I said is correct?

Do you realise how hard kids car seats are to climb around?

        • do you understand what I said why do you want to climb the kids' car seats? you can walk through the gap. This 7 seater is 2-2-3 not 2-3-2. and the middle seats can be moved back and forward too.

            @RichardF89:

you can walk through the gap.

Not if a kids car seat is in the 2nd row and you're trying to get around it

That's fine, it's not like I haven't heard this use-case before. Practicality isn't thought about, rather "let's get the big 7 seater in plans of ferrying 6+ people around WA" with no thought of luggage, prams, or the space in general.

Enjoy wasting $60k+ when you realise it doesn't do what you hope it does ;)

@spackbace: why should I drive the car with 7 people around WA? The 3rd row is comfortable enough for 30 mins ride is more than enough for a daily use. I am so happy that I didn't buy a Kluger that the 3rd row is useless

        • and I also know how hard to climb to the 3rd row with 2 baby car seats in place that why I don't buy the 8 seater palisade

          • @RichardF89: Those captain chairs are great! I wish more car makers made them available here.

I would seriously consider the Sorento if it offered that option here in Australia.

dude just back off. Help the man out rather than being critical about his use. It does not impact you at all

      • -7

Lol I actually am helping, this use-case happens all the time

        • +6

Yes you’re “helping”, but your delivery is condescending and borderline passive aggressive.

      • +1

        7 seater huh?

Strike first. No mercy. So Cobra Kai.

    • +3

lol who shat in your cereal this morning?

  • +2

You asked. You got the best price - except if you didn’t turn up wit a bag of cash ready to go you might not have got the actual best price. It’ll be close though.

Car prices are not going down within 12months. Popular cars currently have a 12 month wait, they are making as fast as possible and people are going to continue ordering during the waiting period. They aren’t going to turn away buyers so all of a sudden in 12 months they’ve got plenty of stock and can give us all big discounts. It will be years until supply gets back to ‘normal’.

      Or Staria.

      • Only if you're into the Robocop look.

Thought it looked bad in photos but IRL I actually don't mind it.

          • @Peter Enis: It's not terrible, I sat in one. But the windows are so huge I feel like you'd need limo tint just to survive the sun coming in, even on the windscreen.

  • Have you looked @ 2022 Hyundai STARIA Elite Auto AWD MY22

    • I don't want a minivan

      • +1

        Why not? Genuine question.

I tried Honda Odyssey and I feel like I am a delivery driver. Me and my wife both don't like the feeling.

          • @RichardF89: This might be a useful watch for you.

            • @afoveht: Second post of this thread sums up Cardigan well

Take anything he recommends with a grain of salt, he’s biased towards Korean cars and used to be paid by Hyundai

              • +1

@pipboy: Yeah I don't think he's always properly impartial, plus I think he's quite a bit of a douchebag, but his fair points remain. IMO in this video he makes a good case against the majority's love affair with SUVs and the common stigma associated with people movers.

                • +2

@afoveht: Agree that IF you can get past the BS, propaganda style and arrogance he probably knows what he’s talking about.

I can’t get past it. Refuse to watch his stuff now and actively encourage others not to watch too. There’s plenty of other sources available.

                  • +1

@Euphemistic: I have numerous times told myself I shouldn't watch him. But I often do. (Not enough resolve / willpower).

  • Tried babydrive.com.au? They have tonnes of reviews for this kind of stuff. I'd sit in the "get a minivan" camp though. If you want to move a lot of people, they're the way to move a lot of people.

Also, I can wait do you guys think the car price will drop in about 12 months time?

Might as well use a dartboard. It's a global supply chain, anyone who tells you they know for xyz reason is just pulling it out of their butt.

    • Thanks, I just don't like minivan but this maybe a better option.

And I know the chips shortage cause the car shortage. The recent cryptocurrency price drop with reduce the demand of the GPU so maybe more supply in the future. And the fuel price is sky high maybe less people buy patrol cars that what I wish

      • On the other hand the flooding will mean a whole lot of cars replaced, multiple car companies are shutting down production in China due to COVID, VW and BMW announced factory closures because they can't get the wiring produced in Ukraine and Ukraine supplies half the world's neon, which is used in chip production. We could be just a few months off another chip shortage.

Building more redundancy into the systems will take a long time and might just push the cost of cars up higher permanently too. No one knows.

GPUs are coming down because supply has been fixed for a while now, but there's still pent up demand. Wait until the 4xxx series is released, it'll happen all over again.

Just get a SLWB Hiace with crew seating

  • Isuzu MUX has a surprisingly roomy third row. Fits my tall kids in no worries, I thought it was roomy enough too.

But don’t buy one unless you plan to go off road or tow a decent load.

  • If you’re going to be using 7 seats it’s worth looking at the Carnival, can’t compare a palisade boot to the carnivals with all seats in use. Plus you can walk through to 3rd row. However no digital dash kind of sucks. Kluger would be the other logical thing to compare to if having an SUV is a must.

    • palisade also can walk to the 3rd row.that is my main reason to choose palsade. it is 2-2-3 not 2-3-2. there is a gap in the 2rd row. there is a 8 seater version with 2-3-3 seats

    • I just checked the Carnival is all 8 seater how can you walk to the 3rd row? And

      • +1

I found that you can take out the middle seat in the 2rd row and walk through which is the same as Palisade 7 seater model

        • I’ve seen both in the metal both would be top of shopping list.

If getting Palisade just a heads up the mid life refresh is coming out soon - it’s probably worth considering waiting for.

Carnival comes in cheaper than palisade and IMO is a nicer car in metal if you don’t strictly need the AWD, would highly recommend both. The carnival driver seat feels a bit more luxe as a place to be and practicality is amazing re storage with all seats in use. Any SUV 3rd row not a nice place to be compared to second row, this is much less the case for the carnival.

          • @Squizz: don't whether worth to wait for the new 23 palisade or not

          • @Squizz: I almost signed the contract finally IO choose to wait for the 23 model. Hopefully will get it this year

          • @Squizz: the dealer contacted me the they can order the 23 model tomorrow

  • Got a palisade the other day for 20% off, they were practically begging me to take it, dealer principal told me they had a tonne of them they couldn't sell, as no one wants new cars at the moment.

    • +1

Was your 20% off Palisade a Tuscon by any chance?

    • 20% off wow may I know when did you get the offer?

      • i couldnt imagine 20% off on any car in this day and age however you might want to cruise hundai.com.au to see the specs and you can work out why….

would you get 20% off on a diesel base model at $60k? like hell no

would you get 20% off an a petrol loaded luxury model at $75k? yeah probably

few people want to risk a 2 ton tank that runs a 3.8 petrol v6 that gets 15/100 on premium… like literally phuqq that noise

but people can rationalise a $60k diesel tractor that runs 10/100…

  • If you do go with Hyundai there used to be a cash back offer if you had a membership with a club they sponsor, which was completely separate to any deals organized with dealer. We got $1k back on our $31k Hyundai as we grabbed a $200 carlton membership
Need to find the club and terms obviously

    • thanks for your tips
