Plumbers, How Common Is Ceiling Water Leakage in Apartments?

Hi, my apartment is just 4 years old and downstairs unit has reported some leakage in their bathroom that might be coming from mine.

Got me really concerned how common is this?
Is it common issue or my apartment is not structure sound?
Strata planning Todo sealing is it right approach? Or temporary fix?
I live in Qld been living there 4 years and they said it might be from recent floor? Could be?

Thanks a lot

70% of Aussie apartments built in the past 20 yrs have problems. This is our crown achievement for the 21st century, million dollars apartment constructed with 3rd world standard.

bathroom that might be coming from mine.

There are only two types of bathrooms/showers out there in the world.

One that is currently leaking and one that is yet to leak!

You must be new to Australia. Apartments are mostly unregulated because regulations are bad. Developers can get away with it. No government will pay for shitty construction unless it goes into the news.

If there was some regulation, house prices would crash because apartment units would actually stop being cost centers and demand for them would skyrocket.

strata issue, get them on it

at the 4 yr mark i say you're doing well

  • My unit is at least 40years old and if upstairs gets flooded mine gets water coming in. All concrete built. It comes through the light socket
