    1. will you hit the bonus spend offers
    2. approx monthly spend (compare how much you earn normally)
    3. any other credit cards?
    4. you going to churn? cancel after signing up)?
    5. annual fee?

bonus points is where u earn points, even if you spend 5k a month, first card gives you 5k points, second chnage to get more, but its the bonus where you get the most points

      1. For shopping I can. (Friends can help, too)
      2. Low, just food and shopping etc.
      3. Nope
      4. Nope because I get free annual fee because I have my home loan.
      5. No

      First $5000 gets 1 point.
      Then $0.5 from $5001-$20,000

      Is that still better?

      • get the highest bonus bonus then, normal points dont get much points
since u have a home loan already you can consider another credit card, maybe an amex (unless u already have one)! unless u want more loans

        • What’s the benefit of Amex?

          • @Kawaii:

            What’s the benefit of Amex?

Lots of discount offers/cashbacks each month…

            • @jv: yeah
u can get a fee free one that still has qantas points
and most of the discounts and cashbacks

              • @djones145: you can also get a free gold Amex through industry affiliations etc.

            • @jv: which one should I be applying for?

              • @Kawaii: If you are affiliated with an industry group, check and see if they offer any free cards.

                • @jv: Can you give an example of the industry group jv? Tried Google but nothing came up on first 3 pages.

                  • @OzCheapo: I got mine through the ACS many, many years ago.

They are no longer affiliated but AMEX have allowed me to keep it without annual fees and converted it to a Gold card.
Same with Mastercard. Initially affliated with a VISA, but when affiliation finished, CBA offered a platinum mastercard with the fees credited back each year. CPAs got similar deals.

                    • @jv: Thats pretty awesome as a retention program. I'll check out my industry to see if something similar pops up

  • +2

Not sure if it's the same case with NAB, but my card with ANZ is not eligible for bonus point because of the home loan package.

You may want to read the T&Cs then.

  • If you’re going to spend the required amount regardless, then get the one with the most points, and the lowest annual fee. If you’re going to spend money to get a bunch of points, you may well be wasting your money.

    • There are two kinds of points mate…

      • +1

        What's your point?

        • For each $ you spend, for different cards I got different points. I don’t know how much points are worth.

  • I tend to avoid NAB Credit Cards because they only have mostly if not all, 44 days interest free days vs common 55 days.

But if it is for points churning, then it's a different story.

    • I have no fees for that :D so that's fine, free points.
