Hydraulics Design and Construction Validation

Update: I have signed it as I don't want to delay the build any further. Thank you everyone for your input.

Hello Fellow OZbargainers,

Hope everyone is doing well.

Could you please share your opinion of this Hydraulics design and construction quote? I have no idea in this area so can't tell if it's reasonable or not. Would appreciate if someone who has experience in this area and share their honest opinion.

It's for Duplex house.

Here is the quote:

Edit: this is the quote I got from the builder. So I guess it also included the builder’s markup.

Need the construction plans and storm water design as well to provide a proper opinion.

      Hi,

Sorry I don’t have those. I was hopping to get some idea based on the item listed in the quote whether or not it’s reasonable. I understand it may not be possible to give the exact figure based on the listed items, but a rough estimation will do.

        whether or not it’s reasonable

It's not possible to give you any advice because extremely large amounts of information are missing. That's like me saying to you give me advice on the following "Chocolate $4,750" what you are providing makes no sense without all the associated plans and information.

        • I see, make sense. Thank you for checking though.

  • Golden rule get mutiple quotes

    • This is the quote I got from the builder. I don’t know if I can get free quote externally. Also, already signed the tender and everything. Originally the allocation was 12k based (which as far as ik was a guesstimate). Now it’s almost 16k. So 4k more.

      • Shit makes sense OP. Can you ask the builder more increased warranty since cost is High ?

      • If it's any help I recently did a double storey house - all the plumbing - storm water, sewerage, hot and cold water, hot water system, rain water tank and pump, connection of all taps, bathtubs, toilets etc. $17,500.

  • The biggest part of plumbing work for storm water is digging. Your quote doesn’t outline any of that part. Eg how many m of trenches to join all the pits and bits together. It could be OK, but if it’s one pipe 3m long it’s a bit much!

    • "* Supply and install additional 100mm stormwater lines from driveway grated drain to absorbtion trench" - would this be something similar to what you are referring to?

      • Yes. But how much of it?

  • "provide detail plan inc certification" seems OK.

The reno I'm doing at my townhouse wit 3 others paid $2k for the stormwater certification. The only change to our drainage was we fitted 5 awnings which didn't change the drainage area in any way.

They said they would probably attend site and put a camera down our SW drains but that didn't happen. All done desktop and photos.
