Cost to Advertise on Carsales

Hi All,
Does anyone know how much it is to advertise in Carsales?
Looks like they have hidden this information for some strange reason.
All i can find is the types of ad packages they offer and not how much they actually cost.
I did find a news article from 5 years ago with some pricing though i doubt that it would still be valid.

i am wanting to sell my car for between 20K and 30K.

Also anyone with recent experience with Carsales can you please advise how your experience with them was.
Would you go with them again? Do you think the higher level packages are worth it?

Thanks in advance

Read this again. Now do it slower and slower till it clicks.

Hint: The ad packages are how much it costs…

    Did you even try?

I went to carsales, clicks Sell car, enters the rego, answers a couple of questions. BOOM Prices of packages displayed. For my test car, the prices are as follows

    Standard Ad - $104
    Premium Ad - $164
    Ultimate Ad -$259

It would have taken OP longer to type this out than to look on Carsales website or to type the question into Google.

Anyway, let the popcorning commence (InB4: thread deleted, user deleted, thread closed)

When was the car built? Is it current?

  • Too much is what it costs. Try Gumtree and Facebook marketplace first.

If you do put it on Carsales. Just take out the standard ad.

Experience is fine. A lot more people are more comfortable buying from Carsales then FB/Gummy.
However Carsales does one thing that really irritates me…
Ever since 3 or so years ago they now block the VIN number on the ads behind a $34 paywall. It really pi$$es me off.

  • I've sold two cars recently through Carsales - both Standard Package. The first vehicle I sold I had also listed on Marketplace and after a few days of 'Is this available?', 'Best price', low-ballers and no-shows, I took down the ad from Marketplace. Didn't bother with Marketplace for the second vehicle. It's a cesspool for sellers. Although I didn't get as many responses through Carsales, the people that did reach out felt more genuine.

    • Did the buyer use bank cheque to complete the transaction?

One did a bank transfer before the pick-up date and the other paid with cash.

        • Thanks, completely new to this, so only give key after receiving the cash or confirmed the bank cheque was valid and transfered to the seller account.

Do you let buyer do a test drive? Do you sit with the buyer during the test drive?

@htc: Only hand over the keys when you confirm that the funds are in your account/in your hands.
Yes I allow test drives, and I always attend.
