Temporary Window Coverings for New Build (Solved)

Hey Guys..

So we've just finished our new build and blinds/curtains weren't included in the package, just wondering if you have any ideas….

I was looking at getting these but they are quite expensive and take around a week to arrive!

I dont want it looking completely cheap but also dont want to spend a bomb!

Thanks in adv!!

  • Having ordered a few blinds lately, I'll say if you choose a colour off what you see on screen, you'll likely get a surprise when it turns up. I ordered dozens of fabric samples and while most where close to what I expected, probably a third were very different.

Also be careful of the week to arrive thing. That's often just their delivery time and you need to add the time to make them which could be another 1 or 2 weeks if they're made locally or a month or two if they're actually made OS.

  • Kmart/st vinnies sheets and thumbtacks.

Two options: look cheap or buy blinds.

  • Apart from sheets/blankets and thumbtacks option we used the reject shop blockout curtains on command hooks. We had long windows in the bedroom and these worked great until we got fitted blinds.

  • +1

When we moved into our new place and needed curtains in a hurry I installed IKEA curtains temporarily until we decided what to do - they are cheap and easy to install if you can drill a few holes and are 2.5m high. 3 Years later they are still there as we are happy with them and have seen no need to replace them . I don't really understand the need to spend thousands on custom fitted curtains

  • When we moved into our new house three years ago, it had the ugliest brown blinds. We replaced them with Spotlight blinds when they were half price, intending to upgrade them at a later date. They are still in excellent condition so we have decided there is no need to replace them.

  • michael jordan cut out

Or Bunnings; adjustable curtain rod and cheap curtain

    • Legend!! That will do… I didnt know tension curtain rods were a thing

  • Thanks everyone!
