  • Nice, HyperX Cloud 2 worth the nod over the Cooler Master MH751 for a similarly priced gaming headset? These are two i'd been heavily considering, would likely pick whichever one would also be better for general music listening.

Maybe check reviews of Takstar Pro 80 and Pro 82. These are the Cloud II and MH751 respectively.

Both were (might still be?) highly regarded as budget headphones.

I have both and they are both fairly good. They both have detachable mics so you don't look like an idiot wearing them out and about. Couple of the biggest differences are as follows. Look at the MH752 as that comes with a USB sound card to make the comparison similar, although both can be used without it.

      1. HyperX Cloud IIs seem to need a bit more power (due to higher impedance). They didn't sound great plugged into a PlayStation 4 controller.
      2. MH751 are lighter and more comfortable, however the ear cups do make your ears warm after a while. Cloud II are still comfortable and come with pleather and velour pads. I prefer the velour as they don't heat up and make the headphone semi-open back.
      • My HyperX Cloud IIs came with a USB sound card also?

Thanks Op just ordered the wireless version.

i currently have the hyperx cloud flight and they still work amazingly after 3 years. Hyperx definitely a top brand

  • Just bought the wireless set for $215 the other day :(

  • Will the USB adaptor replace the onboard sound card?

Ie can i plug speakers into it too? Is it better than Realtek ALC solutions?

    • Yes it will, you technically can hook up active speakers, not passive. Is it better than the ALC, I cannot answer.
