Problems with AGL

Signed up for an electricity for AGL through Westpac rewards. The offer is a $100 prepaid mastercard. After almost 3 months despite multiple calls and emails to their resolutions and escalations team still nothing. Now they simply ignore all my emails

2ndly, there was that 12 month Amazon Prime offer and I never got the code automatically. Called them up and a few days after someone from AGL emailed me a code, guess what, when punched that in Amazon it says the code has already been redeemed. Called them back again and now still waiting

Seriously this is the worst company I've ever had to deal with. Looks like they just bait people in with these promos without intending to fulfil those incentives.

Anyone successfully got anything from AGL?

Select an electricity company purely for their power, not their reward scheme.

Eg. Tango. No BS. No rewards. No pay on time crap. Just electricity.

I'm betting the rates weren't even competitive.

This time Paint you don't know what your talking about .
I get thousands over my normal gift cards reward rates because I play them well .

he does, in my life I've never seen AGL being cheap, same as Origin and EA, on a rare chance they do for certain people but the majority of time they're not.

        • This. I went from 25.5c/kWh with AGL to 14.13c/kWh with ReAmped. Literally almost halved the rate…

      • I agree. I change my providers every couple of months and this way I get discounts and GC's

    • but they have no solar FIT which is what I need

      • 5.5c according to this

The first item is a Westpac rewards issue, not AGL. Offer isn't provided by AGL in the first place. Contact Westpac.

Second one could be a legitimate error? It does happen. See what they do.

    • no it was an AGL offer, for Westpac customers

Received my Amazon Prime code about a week after I got connected.

I'm partial to AGL as they know what to do when dealing with the distributor. I had to disconnect an old and establish two new connections when subdividing a property. Had weeks of drama with another retailer. Switched to AGL and it was completed quickly.

Stuck with them ever since. It helps that their rates are quite competitive for me.

Avoid both of these crap companies honestly.

  • My Amazon prime code didn’t work either, but months later I received a letter and a link to a promo page, and then the code worked.

AGL is the worst energy retailer I've ever dealt with LOL.

  • I had terrible complaints experience with AGL. Spent 6 weeks waiting for them to investigate a pretty straightforward issue regarding being put on the wrong plan. In the end the person managing it emailed me, told me she was going on maternity leave, there was nothing they could do and if I wanted to escalate it I would have to lodge another complaint and start from scratch. I went back to Origin which I had a good experience with previously and they have so far managed to bill me according to our agreement - amazing!

yep agreed Origin is pretty good, I was with them for years and only wanted to move to AGL for the 12c FIT, plus those promos at the time, but will give it another few months to compare cost and might just move back to Origin

  • Make a formal complaint to AGL via their complaint process that should be somewhere on their web site.

Found the email [email protected] so emailed them, got the Amazon code resent to me yesterday, funny enough, from this exact email, but still no sign of the gift card

      • I've been emailing this one several times about a missing gift card and no reply.

Will report them elsewhere if this doesn't get resolved. AGL and these Westpac gift cards are going to be considered a scam by me until this is resolved.
