Help with Samsung Q60 TV

Hoping someone smarter than me can help me.

I have a Samsung Q60 TV from a few years ago… 2019 I think. Recently it has got into a habit of turning off itself and turning on itself every 2 minutes.

It also fails to launch apps most of the time like Disney+, Foxtel GO etc.

I checked and the software is up to date. I've done the whole unplug, leave for a bit and re-plug. All cords are attached properly.

I used to the system tools to clean up the memory (which seems to hit 100% and then after cleaning sits around 30-40%) and clean the RAM and Apps. It is the only way to stop the TV from turning itself off and on non-stop. I have also tried to delete apps (although I'm only using 40% of space at present) and weirdly I cannot delete apps (not pre-installed ones). For example I have Hayu on the TV, tried to delete it… looks like its working and then nothing. I also have an app called Megogo on there (which looks suspiciously Russian) and I can't delete it either. I've tried various methods to delete apps but can't.

But anyway, the apps is not such a big deal, but the fact that the TV keeps turning off and on and I can't really launch apps is a killer. Netflix can work sometimes if I follow the steps and don't launch anything but Netflix.

Hoping someone knows what is wrong with my TV and knows a fix.

  • Have you performed a factory reset?

    • I've tried that but weirdly it doesn't seem to reset anything. All the apps are still there and I'm still signed in to everything. I'm thinking it has something to do with the fact that I also can't delete apps.

    Have you try contact Samsung?

    • I haven't contacted Samsung yet, as I'm hoping there is an easy self fix. It's out of warranty now and I didn't want to wait on hold for a day with Samsung support if I can avoid it.

  • In case anyone else comes across the same problem. I contacted Samsung and they sent out a technician for free (even though I'm outside warranty period). There was a problem with the motherboard and they changed it.

TV has been working pretty well since.
