Not sure if other coles will have the same price or a error. JV I will save you the time of pointing out the obvious.

Normally I am a 'Farmers union iced coffee' or nothing kind of man - and heck I'll settle for the 2 for $6 dare / 2 for $7 boss at Shell Express if it's on the way to client meetings / site visits. But dang, 65c Big M hard to say no.

Good on ya OP u legend. 5 coffees - RIP your toilet haha.

If works quiet I'll goto coles and grab something to snack on and a ice coffee to keep me awake. I did buy another one and saw the price and went back to grab more as that'll last me the week.

If it's a pricing error, you should be given it for free.

Only if it's not in your favour

A scanning error occurs when an item has been scanned, or the correct PLU (Price Look Up) number entered, and a price higher than the advertised or ticketed price displays at the checkout or on the receipt.

  • Yes if you want just 1, free is better. But if you want more (like OP), then it's cheaper to buy them at $0.65, and don't complain to the store. Otherwise it'll cost you $6.80 for 3…

The sums for those that want them…

    1x for free = $0
2x at normal price (say $3.40, since the store will charge these for you at the correct price) = $6.80 = 3 for $6.80

    I'd take the 3 for $1.95… ($0.65 x 3) any day! Thanks OP.

Oh yes, plus the carry bag…

  • so this is priced at all coles?

  • I think it's meant to be $2.60, save $0.80. Someone would need to try another store to see if it's the whole state.

By the time I get through spaghetti junction to buy one, the usage of petrol would have negated the deal.

Yes, and your username checks out.

      • thanks for reminding me!

No problems. Just don't ask me to lend you a hand!

Was it just short dated stock?

    • +3

      10th April and a 6th April.

      • Then definitely a sweet deal.

I personally love the boss coffee in a can but they never go on sale

Was it just the coffee or was it the chocolate milk too?

  • unrelated mostly, but where is JV?

    • You surely don’t miss that stain do you?

      • +1

a genuine concerned ozb netizen here.

  • Since Jv seems to have disappeared, I’ll fill in for them…

    Any bargains?

  • That is what the normal price should be!

  • They probably had a box full short dated at clearance price but because the barcodes are the same, you can get grab the longer date ones for same price.

    • +1

Usually the clearance stock would have a clearance sticker. Surely it’s not hard to get someone to sticker each carton in the box.

      • +1

i know this store. this is what they have done in the past. it's usually too many to individually label so they just stick the short dated box a little bit further away from the longer dated ones. but you can just easily grab the longer dated ones and be charged the same clearance price

        • i dont understand

          • +2

@capslock janitor: My local does the same sometimes. Doesn't bother with actually stickering stock, just changes the barcode in the system somehow to display a certain price and then have the old stock in the front fridges near the entrance with a big special sign. Going into the fridge aisle, the new stock is there with the original price but they scan the same.

      • +1

Not always, generally if there are at least 10-15 to be marked down we do an internal markdown and change the price in the system and usually print a bigger yellow ticket for the shelf. Unless cancelled beforehand that markdown usually lasts 2 days, so it could have been a case of clearing short dated stock and someone has removed the ticket and refilled the shelf without cancelling the price change.

  • didnt work 2nite :\
