I read it as a "Tribal Combat Tong" … Was slightly interested until I re-read it.

    • Same :)

    • I laughed a lot. Especially after looking at the picture. Thanks for the laugh!

  • I never heard a more ridiculous thing to be named for what is basically a hair curler. sadly, the idiot who comes up with these names gets paid good money to do so too

    • I don't think it's that bad? The pattern is apparently 'tribal' (heh), it's the compact size, and curling irons have been called 'tongs' for years. It makes sense in parts, but it does sound stupid when you could just say 'pink hair curler', I guess.

Looks like a colourful soldering iron lol

  • Going to check out the size after work. With my ridiculously long hair (too cheap to get a haircut…), it would make it impossible to use if it's too small. Hopefully it'll be an okay size, 'cause it's a good price!

    • stig,

You should look at the following: http://www.vssassoon.com.au/products/stylers/VS2775A.aspx

My OH bought one yesterday and boy was she happy with the results after she had used it after washing and drying her hair.

BTW good price for the hair curler too… for $10 you can't go wrong unless you end up burning your hair. But goes to show what sort of society we are now though —> Throwaway.

      • Luckily my hair is already silky and shiny (god that sounded conceited! :S) so I don't need one of those. I'm pretty sure it doesn't curl hair, right? It's just like an electric round brush - correct me if I'm wrong! Glad to hear she's happy though, I have heard good things about them :)

Had a look after work. Teeny tiny. The barrel was about 10cm long. Definitely wouldn't have worked for me, but the guy did try to sell me another pack with a straightener, curler (proper tong, rather than these 'wands') and hairdryer. No thanks mate. Buy it yourself, heard you're good at that.

        • LOL… guess it wouldn't work with hair with big volume. Oh wells guess this is their ploy to make you buy different versions.

        • Double post… -_-

  • Can't they just be happy with having an iron?

  • Purchased one of these. Arrived quickly and I'm pretty happy with it (even though it is alot smaller than I thought it would be).

For anyone that didn't get one but is still interested in purchasing one I noticed yesterday that Priceline have them for $9 - reduced from $10. This was Priceline Greensborough but I am assuming that most stores would have them.
