ADMA issue

Hi All,

If any of you have complained to ADMA, I thought I'd let you know about a couple of emails I received from them.

I lodged complaints about Groupon and Deals. One well over a month ago. This is the first I have heard back. They said they had a problem and hadn't done anything on my compaint(s) and asked if they were still at issue.

So if you have compaints pending, they may take longer than the ADMA literature says it will take.

  • still going 6 months from date of my complaint against scoopon and when i first lodged my complaint they claimed they had lost it, even though i had a confirmation email from them. i have not had a single response from scoopon even after several follow ups to the adma. the adma seem unwilling or unable to enforce their own group buy code of conduct. i think the whole process is a farce or they are just plain incompetent. i will be lodging a complaint with accc over the handling of the matter.

  • I heard back from ADMA today that they were contacting the 2 companies involved. Within hours, Groupon emailed me about a nondelivery issue I had written to them about. Asked for my number and when they could call. They called back about 15 minutes after I gave them that info.

The nondelivery was not the ADMA complaint. It was a subsequent one that I had made to Groupon. The complaint was about a "cosmedical" provider who had decided they were only going to do group vouchers two days a week and that the earliest appt was 6 months off. I knew that if I ended up having to change the appt, I'd be screwed as the voucher would be expired by that time. They had also closed a location and cancelled a couple of appointments on me.

Groupon was going to give me my refund and a $20 credit. I wasn't hoping for a $20 credit. I'll take it, but that wasn't the point. They are also looking into my nondelivery.

I haven't heard for deals, but that one is about the bogus RRP of that ice cream maker. I didn't ask for anything there. Don't know how that'll proceed. I was just hoping the ADMA would sort that one out.

I am happy with my dealings with the ADMA.
