Pioneer VSX-S520 Receiver - Trying to Connect 4 Devices

Hi OZB Community,

Hoping that someone can assist me with this.

I am trying to connect four devices to my Pioneer VSX-S520 receiver but currently can only connect 2.

I want to run my Foxtel box (IQ4), Xbox Series X, PS4 and Nintendo Switch through the receiver via HDMI but just having issues with getting a picture/sound for the PS4 and Nintendo Switch. I have the Xbox Series X in the 'Game' input and the Foxtel box through the 'Stream/Box' input

What am I doing wrong??

Thanks in advance

Ben

  • but just having issues with getting a picture/sound for the PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

Have you tried switching devices around? Just plugging in the PS4 and Switch into the ports that you're now using for the Xbox and Foxtel?

That will rule out any console etc settings if they work in those ports. If they don't work, then you need to check the cables used, then the settings

    • Yes I have tried BD/DVD and CBL/SAT with different devices and cables but no luck.

I currently have the PS4 and Switch plugged directly into the TV which works but obviously not ideal.

Thank you though, I will try swapping it around again and see how I go.

        The labels shouldn't matter

Have you checked for a firmware update on the receiver?

I just wanted to make sure that there was no technical reason that it shouldn't be working, so it sounds like the labels are irrelevant?

No I will do that now as well, I am guessing it is pretty straight forward?

Thanks for taking the time to help me out :)

Sounds like you may have to look at the hdmi settings in the receiver what tv are you using?

    • I have a Hisense bought in 2017 (can't recall the model number sorry)

  • Reset your Amp, Id say the HDMI ports are assigned differently to how you are using them.
Refer to Load default in the manual
