Good if you're happy to wait 2-3 weeks for delivery

My recent orders have come within around a week of ordering, but it has been pretty bad in the past.

  • they have coffee Scrub for exfoliating

Maybe it's just me, but i find their coffee to be so common, nothing special.
But again I'm a coffee newbie and has just ordered once from them.
I found that airjo Sumatra or lime blue peaberry to be much nicer

Likely 0. FYI brewing equipment generally refers to stuff used for making filter coffee (hand grinder, filters, etc)

I bought 1kg of Sunset Blvd last month at 40% off, the roast date was 1-2 days before it shipped. Hardly any taste, very disappointing :-( I've tried all sorts of different grind settings, too,.

Last year I bought Sunset Blvd from one of their big sales and it was great! Which is why I bought it again this time. Never again :-(

    • So you are buying it or you're not buying it?? Very confusing…

I've never had a bad experience, I always buy their coffee when it's on sale.

    • Same experience here, last months deal tasted pretty meh. It's a "seasonal blend", so they must've changed it.

  • We always buy Inglewood, and we've never had an issue. Love the taste (usually buy one of their single origin varieties), and delivery has always been prompt.

Single origin coffee is insane $122 a kilo if you buy in 250g bags whilst 1kg bag is $68 - surely packaging doesn’t cost $13.50 ! They’ve started good but not taking a p*** at OB.

  • Inglewood coffee beans are pretty decent. way better than other popular options such as Airjo, limeblue, sensory lab, grand cru, little marionette or bay beans I tried number of them already…
personally I like Sunset blend better than Roosevelt for its creamier and rich flavour side.

prefer Undercover Roaster slightly better but 50% off is way to get.

    • Not for the current price - they beans look like a lower grade beans with the price of high grade.

Inglewood Sunset Blvd is my favourite. I also like the Roosevelt I’ve been trying other brands and Sunset is still my fave so far.

    • Yeah I was impressed with the Roosevelt from the last promo. Looking forward to trying Sunset. No issue with postage or roasting etc. Sent to Bne

    • We like both Sunset and Roosevelt. Preference for the slightly more 'earthy' character that we find in the Roosevelt. As with many others, we do shop around - and negative experiences do give pause. So far, we've had good outcomes. So, another order from us!

I just ordered from another brand but I can’t pass this deal up. I always end up buying both Sunset and Roosevelt. I need to study them more to figure out what it is I like about each,
I do enjoy trying out different brand in between my Inglewood purchases but so far nothing has been better.
I’m currently finishing off my bag of Killer Coffee Co which came highly recommended and I’m really disappointed. It’s not bad, it tastes fine. But it’s just ok to me and doesn’t excite me. I wouldn’t get it again,

    Has anyone tried their Chai?

I actually loved the coffee from these guys. Terrible customer service though.

My first order took weeks to arirve. I complained about the roast date being 3.5 weeks and was sent a replacement bag, freshly roasted.

Two months later, I did another order. This time, my order didn't arrive at all. After contacting the manager, I was told a replacement "would be sent out tomorrow". A week later, still nothing, I asked where it was and the manager pulled out an excuse that "it had gone missing in the mail" and he would "send out a third bag".

During another order, I chose delayed dispatch. I also wrote a note in the instructions to ensure it was freshly roasted before dispatch. I received a bag of coffee with a roast date sticker stuck over the top of another. When i peeled the top sticker off, under it was another sticker with a roast date two weeks prior to that.

Overall, great coffee but the poor customer service has caused me to buy elsewhere

    • Not very customer oriented. They’re a typical OB seller: constantly promote on OB overpriced products at discounted rate.

Purchased a few bags in a previous deal.Coffee was roasted several weeks before I received the deovery even though I live 10 minutes away from their previous site.
What is even worse, I found a piece of tile in my bag! This could have easily damaged my grinder burrs. Reported this to inglewood, they did apologise and said they will pas the info to their QC team. Not even am offer of refund.
This is the first time I have experienced this type of building material debris in a bag of $55/kg coffee.

Reply from their headroaster Cory Slater:

So sorry to hear that.  When coffee is shipped from origin, we often find stones and bits of debris in the coffee sacks that get in there during processing.

We have machines that are specifically designed to remove this debris from the coffee, but unfortunately its not 100% effective.

So sorry to hear that you found one in your coffee.  I've passed this onto the roastery team, and they will make sure the calibration is as good as p;possible.

Thank you very much for your email, we really appreciate it.

  • This vs airjo, anyone have feedback on both?

    • Interesting case study.

Initially quality coffee at a great price however, it has continued to decline and unfortunately i'll now stick with airjo, (40% off their Sumatra or 25/30% off their other blends).

Aside from Inglewood's increase of $5 per kg there has also been the avoidance of replying/acknowledging the infamous privacy leak last year, regular spamming, decrease in quality, horrible shipping delays (noting VIC uses a budget focused courier instead), question marks on roast dates (some users received stale coffee while others had a new roast date sticker over the top of another date raising concerns), not using re-sealable bags and their website server issues during every sale. YMMV.

      • I won't order from Inglewood again since they took three weeks to dispatch my order after sending me an email saying it had been disspatched.

If that report of them sticking a new roasted date sticker over the top of an older one is true then that is absolutely disgusting. Who knows what other areas of their business they are taking shortcuts in and lying to customers about.

Airjo haven't set a foot wrong with me so far so I'll be sticking with them.

    • Sort of.

Without getting into the negative experiences that some others have reported (being a perfect lesson to business about the real cost of disappointing customers who WILL tell others about it)…

      Inglewood

I prefer Inglewood. I like the Roosevelt blend and the Sunset Blvd isn't far behind (read the site descriptors to determine your choice - or get both!). Because we haven't had poor experiences with multiple Inglewood orders, I'm going with them again!

      Airjo

The only Airjo that I've had myself was the Sumatra - and it didn't sing for me. I think that the roast level didn't suit my method (espresso) and the flavour didn't have enough richness. I've bought Enterprise for one of my children - and they were happy with it.

The lesson for me was that you DO need to read the specifications for each Airjo coffee (and learn from your mistakes). Buying by the 0.5kg is a good way to learn what you like without over-committing to a full kilo.

The other thing about Airjo is that their customer service hits the nail on the head. They hate things going wrong and bend over backwards to make things right. THAT is how to build loyalty.

Are you getting order confirmations? I've placed an order, but never received an email confirmation (but can see my credit card has been charged)

    • Likewise. Not good.

      • +1

Check your spam folder. That's where I found mine.

        • +1

Yes right you are! Check that spam folder

        • My thoughts too. But nothin'.

      • …but the coffee arrived today via a cheerful courier! Like.

  • +1

Anyone else still waiting? Apparently my order was dispatched on 6/4, “overnight express”. Tracking number brings up nothing, haven’t received the beans

    • I waited three weeks for my beans to be delivered after receiving the order dispatched email.

They tried telling me that it's automated and it's doesn't actually mean the beans have been dispatched, then tried to belittle me by saying "I'm sorry if you don't understand this".

I'm sorry I assumed the order dispatched email signified my beans had been dispatched, silly me jumping to conclusions!

      Idiots.

      • I've ordered a few times and its always been a good process, but this is a bit shit

Anyone (VIC) had their order delivery by Xpress To You?

    "GET READY!

Your order XXX from INGLEWOOD COFFEE ROASTERS has been picked up by Xpress To You.

Not home? You can request the day of your delivery or authority to leave (ATL) here"

How long does it usually take from depot to delivery? (It's hard to know if I'm not home if there is no delivery estimate!)

    • +1

Got mine same day (Melb) with that courier. Happy - despite zero contact/order acknowledgement from Inglewood.

Actually, when I check it turns out that I got the email AFTER I had been handed the coffee. Go figure!

      • +1

Cheers - hopefully mine comes tomorrow! :)

FWIW, my delivery came yesterday (20/4) - two weeks for delivery (in VIC).

Got delivery notice that it was onboard with driver for delivery on 19/4, and then again on 20/4. So It seems like they don't get all packages delivered with in the day.

Was fine for me, as my order was gear, but just FYI.

ordered and only received on good friday. roasted date as of end of march so effectively 3 weeks old.

beans are trash, won’t be getting these again.

    • Happy to take your 'trash' if you'd like to PM me!

    • Roast Date 4th April
    • Order Placed: 6th April
    • Order Dispatched: 12th April
    • Received: 19th April

You know that strong amazing smell you get when you open a new bag of fresh coffee beans? Well that was missing when I opened this bag of Sunset Blvd.

I'm out. Won't be ordering again. Something has changed at Inglewood and it's not for the better.

  • +2

I ordered on 6 April. Received shipping notification on 8 April.
    Still waiting for delivery (AusPost).

    • Complain. Complain. And don't take their obfuscation for an answer. Seems to work. Sadly.

  • Are they still operating from Coburg? I need a new bag but would rather prefer to go and pickup one.
