Has Anyone Used 1 Old Device to Claim Multiple Samsung Trade in Offers?

Hi all

My missus dropped her phone, now the bottom half of the screen does not display anymore (touch still works though), so she can't complete the Samsung Trade Up app process to get a trade in code. I tried to complete it, and guessed where most of the buttons are, but I couldn't complete entering the IMEI step. That was too difficult.

I could use my phone to get a code for her, and then not send it in. But then I'm wondering if I would be able to use my phone again in future for the trade in process, or if my imei goes on some "black list" with Asurion?

Has anyone tried using the same device to get multiple trade in offers?

Or alternatively if there's any creative ways I could complete the trade up process on her phone, I'd like to hear them!

Thanks!

try connecting the broken phone to a monitor with USB-C to HDMI and use Samsung DEX

Try installing remote control software like anydesk or teamviewer and control it that way. You can do the install 'remotely' via https://play.google.com/ to push the app to the device.

I hear this ridiculous advice all the time, sure there are multiple ways to install the app (adb being one), that's never the issue. The issue would be logging in and setting it up to be remotely controlled.

      • LOL thanks for coming!

  • thanks for the suggestions.

no usb-c to hdmi cable and dex unfortunately.

i will try the remote control software, thanks.

They will check the IEMI number against the phone they receive, and they will reject the claim once they receive a phone without matching info.

    • I could use my phone to get a code for her, and then not send it in.

      • My understanding from the post was he wanted to use the IMEI from his own phone and send in her phone. Thus asking if he would be able to use his own phone (and IMEI) to trade in at a later date.

  • sounds like fraud to me

  • You can also use Scrcpy or Vysor if you have adb debugging enabled, to control the device. Otherwise any other remote app would also be suitable.

Can’t you just rotate the phone so the screen flips to see the buttons?
