That'll be a pass for me

  • +2

    Pausing this month (again)

  • I want to play Ghostrunner, but I'm still finishing TWEWY2 and then I plan to play GotG. Reckon it is worth getting this now, or roll the dice and hope it is cheaper in the next few weeks?

    • +2

Its been given away on Amazon Prime before for GOG so purely speculating - unless you're desperate to play it right now chances are it might show up for free on another platform.

      • +1

If I didn't claim it at the time, I've lost it now right? I have Amazon Prime, but completely missed that there was free games until recently.

        • yep i think if you missed it in the month it was given, it's gone.

    • Reckon it is worth getting this now, or roll the dice and hope it is cheaper in the next few weeks?

You could try pausing the month to see if they offer you a further discount. I got a further $4USD off offer when I went to pause, but it could be thats because I've paused many many months in a row. They make you click through a number of pages to actually confirm the pause so you'll see it on the first or second page if it's there.

      • I'm not a current subscriber - I'd be subbing just for Ghostrunner, and likely cancelling after (unless next month has something I deemed worth the $16)

been playing the 12 bucks for years because Friend gave me the discount so it stuck perminantly. this is way better than xbox live because you KEEP THE GAMES!!! not loose it all when you cancel.

and there has been many gems and new release games over the years too.

    • +2

Been substantially worse in the past year or two though. I'd say if you compared the past 2 years of games between game pass and this, game pass would come out on top.

But yes, you do have to keep paying for game pass. But can be substantially cheaper than this as well, which more than makes up for it for me.

      • +4

again you don't keep games in gamepass its simply a rental service when you cancel it your games are gone.

        • +2

Yeah, I mentioned that. But in my situation, I've spent $432 on humble across the past 3 years, and around $80 on game pass (although price workarounds are getting more expensive now).

For me, I've had much more enjoyment and value out of game pass than humble. And humble has been $350 more, for the privilege of keeping those games that have been bringing me less entertainment than those on game pass.

Very rarely have games I have still wanted to play left game pass.

Maybe in 10 years time being able to keep them will pay off, but for now I've gotten waaay more value from game pass.

          • @snoopydoop: sounds like you don't play multiplayer anything

            • @kungfuman: I mainly play multiplayer.

I have played more single player games I wouldn't otherwise have played through game pass though.

              • @snoopydoop: the only benefit to me is the old xbox 360 games you can get on gamepass the pc games you get are mostly old and the only real new releases are micosoft made games like flight simulator or age of empires 4, the lack of VR content is a real down side to this service, and 90% of the game on game pass I owned before it even came out on gamepass. So to me there is very little to no benefit in game pass unless you own an xbox.

                • +1

@kungfuman: Yeah agree that there's a lack of VR content on there.

Not sure if No Man's Sky can be used for VR on PC through game pass? I had already bought it. But that's a good one.

Agree offerings are better on the Xbox too, which I do own.

Plus the pool of "Microsoft made games" is rapidly increasing with all their acquisitions hahah

You pause a month without losing the $12 pricing, I do it all the time

  • Should anyone have no use for their copy of Monster Sanctuary, I'd be happy to trade for it. Have some misc games or TF2 keys.

  • +3

If I am not mistaken the US$12 is for existing subscribers on the Classic plan? I believe others will have the regional pricing of AU$16.95 for this bundle.

  • +5

6/8 games unowned with a historical value for the remaining being around ~$60 AUD so $10 AUD per game for less than $3 AUD is not bad but wish it was closer to $1 AUD looking at some of these games.

Wish I didn't get the naruto game now and rogue heroes but for roughly $3 per game I don't think I could get these games cheaper at least legitimately so this was OK for me.

Yeah not the greatest bundle but also not the worst I can see myself playing at least 1/3 of these games some time when I get off the hamster wheel.

Ah well looking forward to next month.

Stay safe and well my humble bundle people.

Edit: giving away naruto and rogue heroes just one copy of each message me here or dm.. Going to give it away properly and safely so it doesn't get snagged by ninjas and bots only true real people

    Have a nice day

  • humble choice hasnt really been worth it for a while, and since they recently changed it again theres been less games, and usually they're games i either already own or have no interest in. they used to give 10+, now they do around 8. if you kept classic its still cheaper than if you cancelled and changed to aud by roughly a dollar. you also cant keep the 20% discount unless you sub for 12 months straight without pausing, which was one of the reasons i would get it in the first place.

    • Amazon prime honestly looking like better value now with it being a mini Netflix, mini humble bundle and mini supermarket department store all in one now for $59 per year (price change maybe pending if they follow Amazon US which I hope they don't).

Back 4 Blood personally was the best thing so far to come out of humble bundle this year so far and that wasn't even from humble monthly aka humble choice.

Yeah hopefully all this lack in value so far this year will compensate out somehow later this year.

Really for me it's just fanatical, humble bundle and steam bundle sales that's been getting me.. No one else as far as I know has good deals worth getting.
